Did you know that there really is a Jane Iredale, and she founded the skincare and makeup line Jane Ireldale in 1994?
And did you know that Jane Iredale products not only look beautiful but also do beautiful things for your skin?
Well, if you haven’t had any experience with this exceptional line of color cosmetics and skincare, advicesisters.com has a treat for you!
For Spring 2017 we had a chance to review the latest Spring colors, and we’re sharing them with you!
Everything’s Coming Up Roses
If we were the ones creating the name of this beautiful spring collection, inspired by show tunes, we might have called it “Spring is Busting Out All Over,” or “Everything’s Coming Up Roses.”
The pink, peach and rose-centric colors are reminiscent of the velvety petals of Spring blooms.
The silky powders can be applied with a fingertip (do use a brush for more precise results).
Triple Color Combo Compacts For Eyes
Slim, shiny gold compact reveal three fresh triangles of soft color in Jane Iredale’s latest PurePressed® Eye Shadow Triples $30/each).
Two new compact feature mostly neutral shades.
“Soft Kiss” (to the left in my photo above) has two shades of mauve and the silkiest, softest but intensely pigmented taupe.
“Pink Quartz” features pink, plum and a light-as-a-whisper, pink.
Both of these are “trendy” without being over-the-top gaudy. Feminine and flattering, you can’t go wrong with either one because they’re universally flattering.
In our test, these shadows lasted for hours, and for those with sensitive eyes there’s good news because they’re gentle enough for you, too.
They’re gentle enough for those of us who have sensitive eyes. While we liked these best used dry, if you really want to wear them with a big color payoff, you can use them wet as well. In a pinch, multi task the lighter colors for a lip stain!

Key Ingredients:
Boron Nitride helps shadow stick and stay true to color. Pine Bark Extract protects skin and calms inflammation
Two New Lipstick Colors
Our first test of Jane Iredale lipstick ($25) years ago really excited us for the hydrating formulas.
But we are even more excited about the new colors of Jane Iredale PureMoist® Lipstick ($25).
The elegant, slim, gold cases with slant tips make it easy to precisely apply the colors.
There are two new universally flattering shades for Spring: Lisa—a creamy rose beige and Susan—a soft cool pink
Neither of these shades are bright, but both have enough color payoff to tint lips without feeling “bare.”
But the main thing we love are the moisturizing, nurturing ingredients that are a lip treatment as well as a lip beautifier.
Key Ingredients:
Moringa Butter (with vitamins A and C); Coffee Seed Extract (antioxidant protection); Orange Peel Wax, moisturizing Avocado plus Sunflower Seed Oils (hydrate, protect, condition).
Get A Flush With InTouch® Cream Blush
Cream Blush can be tricky to apply. If you apply too much it feels sticky on your skin, but if you don’t add enough it won’t have enough “ooph.”
The Jane Iredale In Touch Cream Blush ($27) is a cream to powder formula that doesn’t ever feel sticky.
It’s blend-able, layer-able, and the swivel up stick is short and chnky, good for a travel bag.
The newest color is “Candid,” a very soft neutral that works best on paler skin tones, but really pops on all skin tones if you add it under a powder blush.
The best part is that this blush can make a wonderful natural looking lip stain or even an eye color in a pinch.
Who wouldn’t love a multi-tasker like that?!
Key Ingredients:
Macadamia esters (to hydrate and soothe skin) and beeswax for antimicrobial protection, so you are doing good things for your skin every time you apply it.
Better Get a Beautiful Bronzer
Bronzers are a matter of personal taste, but the newest Jane Iredale Bronzer Refill ($44) is Peaches & Cream—four luxurious, warm peachy and pink hues with shimmer .
Sweep a soft blush or powder brush across all of the four stripes of color for an all-over glow, or select just the ones you want and multi-task them for blush, highlight, and bronzer.
Jane Iredale suggests mixing this product with moisturizer (or hair gel?) for a dramatic effect but we like the natural, soft colors that flatter so well, dry and directly from the compact (refillable compact sold separately-$18).
Key Ingredients:
Mica for glide, Pink Bark Extract and Pomegranate Extract for antioxidant protection
There are other colors in the bronzer collection, but this peachy one really adds a feminine glow that’s perfect for Spring.
