13 Gorgeous Jewelry Gift You’ll Want to Keep For Yourself
Advicesisters.com are big fans of Carolee Jewelry. Their on-trend and classic pieces are beautifully crafted and look like they should cost much more than they really do.
We selected items from the Big Apple Collection with apple-red and clear crystal stones set in gold bezels. There are 16 pieces including the Big Apple Kite Earrings ($75) and a matching Stretch Bracelet ($95).
The Kite Earrings drop 2.5″ from French ear wires decorated with tiny clear crystals. The width is 1.25″ to make a statement, but they’re not so heavy you’ll want to take them off before the evening is over. The Big Apple Stretch Bracelet with glass and resin stones and two rows of gold-tone beads is 1″ wide but it’s lightweight. One size comfortably fits everyone.
These are the perfect pieces to take to the office and add after work for the office party, or your hot date, or that special soiree when you want a lot of sparkles. They also make good travel pieces for holiday. Pair the bracelet with the earrings and you’re New Years Eve ready no matter what you’re wearing. Either or both make a fabulous gift, but these are the pieces we want for ourselves!
Another Carolee gift-able is one of their charity items: the East Side Cuff Bracelet ($65) Style #:CLB00202S100. The classic bezel-set triple rows of crystals set in an 8″ cuff bracelet sparkle on your wrist and catch the light at every turn. It’s an open cuff you just slip on a wrist so it’s one size fits all.
There’s another reason to buy this one: CAROLEE will donate $5 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation from the sale of each piece in this collection. How lovely is that?!

Montana-based Lexi Butler is part of The Artisan Group (a group of over 1,000 small business artisans who offer just about every type of handcrafted products you can think of). We were immediately drawn Lexi’s jewelry and accessories made from copper, brass, sterling silver, crystals and gemstones and selected these lovely Sterling Silver tube Fuchsia Crystal Earrings ($38) to suggest for a holiday gift idea that’s substantial, but not outrageously expensive.
Handmade sterling silver earrings incorporate silver tubes, silver daisy spacer beads, pearls, fuchsia and pink Swarovski crystal beads, sterling silver chain, o-rings, sterling silver earwires and copper head pins to create earrings that sparkle and dance on your ears as you move. These dangle about 3″ and are lightweight and comfortable to wear and come in other color combos as well. Visit https://www.lexibutlerdesigns.com
If you saw these beautiful Aurora Borealis Crystal Marquis Drop Earrings Item: 69494 ($12.50) in a pricey boutique, we know you’d think they were really vintage and pricey.
Surprise! We found these at Claire’s, known for super affordable accessories. The 2″ long lightweight AB drop earrings with a post back are so glamorous in silvery metal. The vintage design sparkles and even has a little dangling crystal drop in the center.
You can get these earrings at Claire’s in clear silver crystals as well.
Not everything that glitters is gold –and it doesn’t have to be! Put these in a pretty box and watch her eyes sparkle with delight (you don’t have to tell her you just spent the equivalent of a couple of lattes). Visit your favorite Claire’s store or shop online at Claires http://www.claires.com/
When we first saw this silver bowl filled with glittering objects, we weren’t quite sure if they were edible candies. Then we realized that they were Judith Leiber Pill Boxes ($275-$695) ! While these are not technically “jewelry” we are including them in our jewelry review because they are precious jewels on their own, little works of art.
Heavy and heavily encrusted all over with crystals they sparkle and can be used for pills (we guess) but probably you or the lucky person who received one as a gift will consider it as a collectible. Judith Lieber is known for her evening bags in similar, whimsical shapes and has been a favorite of celebrities and fashionistas for over 50 years.
If you are ready to indulge in something truly special, you can buy these at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, and Saks Fifth Avenue
Tara Reid of Starletta Designs is a jewelry designer in Ontario, Canada and a member of The Artisan Group. When we saw her dagger-style necklaces we knew everyone would want one
The Dagger Neckalces ($70) in Red and Green would be particularly appropriate for Christmas gifts but we also like the unique teal blue quartz briolette gemstone that has been wire wrapped in 14kt gold filled wire and hangs from delicate gold filled cable chain and finished with a gold spring clasp.
The stones measure approximately 12-15mm in length. No matter which ones you choose, they’re all show-stoppers (or wear two, paired). Tara Reid’s pieces can be found on a number of popular websites including amazon and on her own Starletta Designs site .

All that sparkles may not be a diamond, but it might look even better! Diamond Veneer makes high-quality coated cubic zirconia and no one might even know that these are the real thing. We selected a piece that is simple, so it’s believe-able — a classic 1.5 CT round with bail simulated diamond – Diamond Veneer solitaire pendant. 635P150A ($40) with a delicate 16″ chain with a 2″ extension.
At the QVC holiday preview several months ago, the H by Halston 36″ Round Pendant Necklace with Snake Chain ($49 + $3 shipping & handling) caught our attention. The gold or silver-tone snake chains have a subtle glow, and the resin disc pendants look like semi-precious stones. There’s a nice, magnetic closure. The pendant is 2″L x 2″W; the snake chain is 36″L x 1/8″W.
hat we like so much about these pendants is the classic round shape that adds a pop of color to wear with just about everything. The pendants come nicely boxed and in a pouch. At press time these were available in white, green and blue. Please visit www.qvc.com for more information
Christine Rio has a passion for metal. She is a member of The Artisan Group. Her Mixed Metal Cuff in Brass and Textured Silver caught our eyes (srp. $69 to about $165.00). This “Crushed” bracelet ($90.00) slips on your arm easily and is (gently) adjustable and looks a lot more expensive than it is.
The brass cuff overlaid with pressed silver solder and hammered edges that create a crushed” effect is ¾” wide and shines like Sterling Silver. Each of these bracelets is going to be unique, due to the unpredictable nature of the “crushing” process, so each is truly a beautiful original. Christine’s earrings, rings and bracelets are artistic and very unique. Check out the cuff bracelets here!
