Yesterday I visited an eco-friendly boutique on the Lower East Side. The store, Kaight, is at 83 Orchard Street. But it was eco-friendly, celebrity hair stylist Patrick Melliville, and the promise of a chance to try new, Aveeno hair care products, that really enticed me. Aveeno has a commitment to the environment, offers plastic bottles that can be Upcycled, and even offers a sustainability widget on their Facebook page that you can use to see how eco-conscious you can be.
The new, Aveeno Active Naturals Hair Care Collection is infused with nourishing wheat complex, to replenish moisture that may have been lost (making your hair look dry, frizzy, and unmanageable). There are a variety of affordable, effective products in four basic categories: Shampoo, conditioner, Leave In and Styling products.

Patrick Meliville and his able helpers were on hand to work a little hair blowout magic on attendees. I couldn’t resist, especially since my hair was a true, helpless victim of yet another hot, sticky subway ride and a long walk (I am famous for having no sense of direction). Aveeno Nourish + Style Smoothing Shine Creme was the product he chose to help banish my heat-induced, frizz. This product in a pump bottle looked like it might smooth my hair, but leave it greasy. No way! A little dollop did away with all the frizz, leaving my hair feeling soft, silky and yes, very smooth. But today, my hair is still bouncy and soft, not sticky or limp, or greasy. Now that’s, impressive!
