I’m a cat person. I have had at least one cat in my life since I was 2 years old. I love their elegance, and complexity. Kittens can be cuddly and cute, but they can quickly become feisty and even a bit dangerous. Kittenesque by Flirt! is a fragrance that is probably meant to channel more of the latter feline, with a “love of all things leopard.” The fragrance is a fruity oriental, a nice melange of summer fruits, some white florals, and a drydown of woods and vanilla. Actual notes are mandarin, raspberry, blackberry, peach, orange blossom, jasmine, honeysuckle, hazelnut, sandalwood, Tonka bean, vanilla.
I’ve been reviewing a lot of high end, luxurious fragrances lately, and they are exotic and lovely. But not every nice fragrance costs a fortune. Kittenesque gets your purr going, for just $39.50 1.7 fl. oz. bottle, at Kohls. It isn’t expensive, but that doesn’t mean the fragrance smells “cheap.” It is nicely mixed, fruity floral tempered with smoother, creamier notes that make this something more sensual than the same old fruity floral for warm weather consideration. It arrives in a leopard print box rimmed with hot pink metallic and a hot pink metallic label. That ought to give you the immediate idea that it is a girly, flirty, sexy fragrance. Inside, an equally adorable, sexy leopard printed bottle mirrors the box.
The fragrance starts out light and fruity, but it quickly dries down to the floral through the vanilla and wood. It is not quite the type of fruity floral you might be used to, since it’s less fruity and floral, and more a mixture of fruit, flowers and warmer, creamier, notes. It’s neither heavy, nor super-complicated, making it appropriate for younger women, but still fun for more mature ones. After all, whether you’re a kitten or a cougar, or just a real cool cat, you’re still a fabulous feline!
Bottom Line: this an an affordable, fun, day-to-evening fragrance that is light enough for warmer weather, with a flirty sensability that might just make you want to put on a LBD and stilettos, and go out on the prowl!
