I’m loving La Beaute Fatale. It’s a clean beauty brand that fashion designers also love. La Beaute Fatale was the featured makeup for Badgley Mischka, Cynthia Rowley, and Bach Mai runway shows last season. This season’s New York Fashion Week wrapped up in February and La Beaute Fatale was the exclusive makeup sponsor for runway shows by Richie Rich, Dur Doux, and Randhawa Brands. I’ll get more into the looks of the February 2023 runway shows later on in this story.
La Beaute Fatale which translates to “The Fatal Beauty,” features a collection of luxury beauty products made with high-quality ingredients and no harmful chemicals. The brand’s philosophy is that: “every woman carries an inner beauty that is powerful, strong, and destructive so each product is meant to enhance the fatal beauty we have within ourselves .…” This sounds nice, but what about the products? I received just a few and no surprise, I loved them all. Here are my thoughts.
La Beaute Fatale’s Lipware Beauty Box Exclusive Lipstick
The hot magenta color in “Vibrate” I am wearing is La Beaute Fatale’s Lipware Beauty Box Exclusive Lipstick ($28). The company’s Xtreme Lipstick ($28) is available in 9 shades and is also deeply pigmented. The lippies are long-lasting formula with Antioxidant Vitamin E and Natural Vanilla Extract to nourish lips for long wear. A bright magenta is the Pantone Color of the Year.
Velvet Mousse Foundation
One product suggested to us was the Velvet Mousse Foundation (available in 4 shades), $50. The foundation is made in Canada. This is the very foundation that was used in the Fashion Week 2022 Badgley Mischka Spring/Summer 2023 runway show. I
The tube is a simple pump that dispenses a cream-to-powder formula that is moistly-matte and creamy. With only four colors to choose from, I left my contact to pick the one I tested. It was (N4). “Neutral 4. The other neutral is N7 which is much deeper.
You can see how it looks not completely blended in on my skin. Once blended, it is much better. However, I wish I’d had the other light tone to try as well just to see the difference. I also don’t understand the numbering since there are only two different tones and four colors.
The cool tones are C3 and C6. The lighter one is C3 and C6 appears to be much deeper. Unfortunately, there are no color swatches or photos of people wearing makeup. If your skin is medium deep get the deeper tone, It is blendable but I wouldn’t suggest it for very dark skin. I hope la Beaute Fatale adds more colors to this fabulous foundation.
One other thing, I know it’s not always possible to add SPF protection into foundations, but my preference is for one with SPF in it. When you wear many sunblocks and put foundation over them, sometimes they make the foundation greasy, or make it change color. I didn’t test this one with sunblock yet, but I hope since it is cream to powder it will be fine.
Powder Blush ($28)
I love blush. Even if you are not wearing a lot of foundation just a swipe of blush can perk up any complexion. You can see this blush in my first photo, but the stock photo here is more of the correct color. It’s a hard-milled but super-silky blush that can be layered for more intensity. However, this one is already full of saturated color.
Dust it on lightly with a soft brush to get a subtle blush. There are five colors four of which are pink or berried pink, and one light beige that can be used for contouring. This is a nice powder blush, but again, you have to be able to pick the right color, and there are no actual swatches, just photos of the clear screw top with the powder showing through. You won’t need much so this blush is a good value.
Coming Soon:
The spiked lipstick is a new innovation La Beaute Fatale plans to launch in Spring/Summer – they are $28. They are vegan velvet lipsticks that are part of a Matte Velvet Collection. The packaging is gorgeous. The lip colors arrive in a rose gold spike topped with a crown. It’s reminiscent of one of the most luxurious makeup brands. However, these are within the realm of reason.
I am tempted to just look at them. But once sampled, they slid on my lips like silk and stayed put a long time. These will be the ones you will want tget for yourself and for gifts. Watch for them.
Rockin the NYFW Fall 2023 Runways with La Beaute Fatale:
For Richie Rich, which took place on Saturday, February 11th at BKLYN Studios, La Beaute Fatale worked with the team in creating 3 looks, The first –a homage to Stevie Nicks and her groovy bohemian rock n’ roll style from the 70s and 80s. Then there was the glitter and glam of Richie’s Club Kid days of the 90’s; and a modern take on Disco. For the Club Kids look, they went extreme with colored eyebrows, overlined lips, and bright-colored cheekbones. The Disco look featured applying glitter to models’ hair then complimenting the look with glitter eyeshadow lining the brows, and applying star art and thick eyeliner in bright colors.
For the show, Dur Doux, which was showcased on Sunday, February 12th at Triangle Loft in nYC, the models were from a diverse group with different ethnicities/skin tones. The striking combination of a bold eye with an intense lip color made for a beautiful appearance on the runway. The end result was magical.
