The Balm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Hughes-NUDE
The Balm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Hughes-NUDE is a nicely boxed collection of half a dozen minis liquid lipsticks in nude shades. Three of these (Genuine, Patient and Humble) are new to The Balm.
However, nude doesn’t mean bland. If you’re “natural” lippie lover, you’re going to love your lips with these mini-sized liquid longwear lipsticks.

L-R: Trustworthy, Sincere, Charming, Genuine, Patient and Humble.
If you are worried that natural shades will wash out your skin, check out the colors on my arm and you’ll realize that even the lightest shade (new, “Humble”) will add credible color to your lips.
In order from deepest to lightest are: Trustworthy, Sincere, Charming, Genuine, Patient and Humble.
Why Your Lips Love These:
These are matte but not super-drying. And they’re natural but not boring shades. The purse-sized tubes in a long-lasting formula let you apply and forget re-applying for hours.
The boxed set makes a nice gift, or save some. share some! You can get this entire collection for $29 at TheBalm.com
Love Your Lips By Exfoliating Them:
I love longwear lipsticks but they can dry out your lips and leave them chapped. You can hydrate them with lip balms, but first, you need to get rid of those tiny bits of dry skin. You can smooth out the rough edges if you use a really good lip scrub.
In addition, even a great micellar water might not take off all the color. Scrubbing with harsh lip exfoliants or a toothbrush can irritate lips to the max. What you need is a good and gentle lip scrub.
For example, I like nügg Cute But Serious Lip scrubs that are natural and vegan.
Why My Lips Love These:
Anything you put near your lips is going to end up in your stomach in some part. nügg uses only natural ingredients in their gentle lip scrubs without preservatives, parabens, mineral oil, sulfates, synthetic fragrance or colors so at least you aren’t harming your inner self, while beautifying your outer self!
They are also leaping bunny certified and cruelty-free. For those who care, nügg products are also 100% vegan. if you don’t care, it still is a good thing.
Exfoliating sugar granules scan be overly aggressive, but not in this product. There is also cocoa butter and jojoba oil to moisturize and heal lips.
There are four different nügg lip scrubs. I tried the Berry Dream (photo above shows open jar) and Coffee Fix. The shiny round balls are fun to look at and are about the size of the ones you buy in a gumball machine.
At under $10 they’re a good deal, but you won’t get too much in terms of the product in those little shiny balls. However, you don’t need much to get your lips super smooth.
Yes, they are fun, but they’re serious lip-loving care as well. Inside is a soft yet effective way to get rid of the dry skin on your lips without irritating them or ripping them to shreds. I have sensitive skin so I love that I can use these every day.
The nügg Coffee Fix Lip Scrub arrives in a shiny copper ball and it really does smell like a good cup of steaming hot coffee.
The nügg Berry Dream Strawbery Lip Scrub arrives in a bright red shiny ball that smells like strawberry ice cream with the same exfoliating and nourishing ingredients as the Coffee Dream Lip Scrub.
When you’re through with the purse-sized ball of lip scrub you can use it to store some of your favorite lip balm.
At just under $10 these also would make fun stocking stuffers for the holidays or a little pick me up gift for a friend.
