Recently, TheraFit brought a representative to New York and she invited editors to wear test these shoes in one of the most challenging venues for workouts, a actual gym. With some reluctance, I agreed to join some of my beauty and fashion colleagues at one of the branches of Blink Fitness (the new Blink Fitness Murray Hill at 600 3rd Avenue in Manhattan), and participate in a Blink Sweat class. Wearing TheraFit shoes in a high energy class, is quite a different experience than what I usually do, which is simply spend some time on an elliptical trainer or pedaling a bicycle.

Therafit by Dr. Lisa features two styles. A leather version is “Renee” ($95.00) available in white leather, that would be perfect for nurses and others who need to be on their feet all day long wearing a professional, lace-up shoe. The workout/walking shoe we all wear-tested at Blink Fitness is the colorful and lightweight, called Deborah ($95.00). It is available in tasteful combos of Pink, Black/Pink, Red, Black/White and Silver/Blue. Due to the inner sole and padding in these shoes, I would advise choosing shoes that are 1/2 size up from your regular. Deborah is a lightweight athletic trainer crafted with breathable mesh and soft, synthetic materials, the Deborah is one of the most comfortable shoes we have tested. Deborah features a molded, removable foot bed giving even more cushion and support. If you’re going to be on your feet, you’ll appreciate the fact that these shoes are lightweight but with a lot of padding and support. You can also feel the arch support inside, so you know your feet won’t ache. This Summer, when the weather is hot, you can wear Deborah and you won’t end up with tired, sweating, irritable feet!
*TheraFit has also come out with a line of Summer Sandals and The Advice Sisters are going to be wear-testing them, so keep your eye on advicesisters.net!
The Therafit web site is nicely done with some short, to the point videos that can tell you a lot about the shoe. Here’s one!
Women like to feel good about their purchases, as well as purchase things that make their feet feel good. Therafit gives back through their One Step Forward Giving Campaign. With every purchase you make, Therafit Shoe will donate $1 to one of the charity partners they support. It’s your choice which one they will donate to.
The Bottom Line: TheraFit by Dr. Lisa are extremely comfortable footwear for work, play, exercise — whatever it is you want to do, you can do it with one shoe. If you’re traveling, these shoes will help you survive a day on your feet while sight-seeing, and your well-spent time in the gym, for exercising. If your feet are happy, it shows on your face.
