Of late, M-A-C’s color choices have been not just trendy and innovative, but very user-friendly. This new, To the Beach collection is a glowing treasure! Here’s how the creative minds at M-A-C describe the collection:

I love the iconic, matte black M-A-C- compacts, but the Summery packaging for this collection is so pretty, collectors are going to jump on every single piece. There are, for the most part, sunny green or coral compacts embellished with “sea” creatures both on packaging and the products themselves. For example, this High Lite Powder embossed with a gilded sea horse amidst coral, is a work of art you might just ogle for a while before swishing your brush in it. The eye shadows feature clear tops stenciled with graceful shells, so you can still see the glorious color. Even the Lipglass (this one is called “Easy Lounger”)is festooned, as are Lipsticks, and Lip Pencils (with a coral frond or shell on the barrel) and most everything else!

Firecracker (in photo) Frosted mid-tone red-orange (Veluxe Pearl) (Limited Edition) *this unusual color is a really warm pink, but you have to have to apply it judiciously, because red/orange tones like this are runway-ready, but real-way challenging.
Sweet & Punchy Bright yellow-green (Veluxe Pearl) (Limited Edition) *one of my favorite pieces in this collection. It’s best to flatter warm complexions. The acid green simply shimmers with golden glow, being neither too green or too gold–it’s so eye catching you’re going to get comments (the good kind) for sure!
Shimmermoss Green with green pearl (Veluxe Pearl) (Permanent)

Fun Bathing Mid-tone bronzed plum (Cremesheen) (Limited Edition) *this color is one of those blended masterpieces that’s not too plummy, not too bronze-y. Best for cool skin, the shimmery medium tone will make tans, sizzle!

Splashing Mid-tone blue pink with soft gold pearl (Limited Edition) *Splashing is smashing! A sheer medium pink that has lots of shimmer, shine and vanilla scent.
Lip Pencil ($13.00 U.S. / $15.50 CDN)
Life’s a Breeze Soft pink (Limited Edition)*a soft, pretty pink that will work with all your pink-centric glosses and lipsticks. The pink coral design on the barrel makes it extra special.
Temperature Rising Loudmouth orange (Limited Edition) *wow! It’s bright! But if you’re wearing an apricot or coral lipstick or lipgloss, pink or beige or other colors won’t work–this is is the color you need.
Eye Kohl ($14.50 U.S. / $17.50 CDN)
Float on By Dark green turquoise (Limited Edition) *this is a truly intense, deep turqoise shimmer pencil. It might not be right for everyone, but as a party eye accent, I love it. You can also try smudging it onto your lids for a cutting-edge, turquoise “smoky” eye.
Rosemary & Thyme Mid-tone olive gold with shimmer (Permanent) *I am so glad this one is in the permanet collection. It’s a deep, shimmery khaki that looks trend and looks lovely, blended onto your lid as well as used for a liner.

Get-Away Bronze Mid-tone suntan (Frost) (Limited Edition) *I’d almost call this a shimmer bronzer for pale skin because it is quite deep. The color looks coppery in the compact, but glimmers with a slightly pink-ish/bronze glow on the skin. Palefaces will use a light touch, deep complexions will simmer with this gorgeous color.
High-Light Powder ($26.00 U.S. / $32.00 CDN)
Marine Life Multi-colour pressed powder *OMG! SO GORGEOUS! The star of this collection! A gorgeous, pressed powder blush/highlighter in warm peach and coral. The wow! factor of the golden seahorse amidst the coral fronds is worth the cost, alone!
Nail Lacquer ($12.00 U.S. / $14.50 CDN)
In the Buff Muted taupe avocado (Cream) (Limited Edition) *I’m giving this a thumbs up for originality in color, but honestly, it looks a bit beige-y/bile-ish on my hands. If you are seeking a color that is unique, this works, especially on paler skin.

Golden Muted golden tan-beige with golden shimmer (Limited Edition) *medium-toned powder bronzer has just a hint of shimmer so you can wear to in the daytime, even to work, and look “natural” and not gaudy under artificial light. The coral-toned compact with coral fronds stencilled in white on the top, make it a keeper.
Refined Golden Finely spun golden with soft pearl finish (Limited Edition)
Bronze Body Oil ($22.00 U.S. / $27.00 CDN)
Glowing Tan with multi-dimensional golden shimmer (Limited Edition) *on deep skin this unscented shimmer/glitter product, would look amazing. On pale skin it adds golden glitter. The oil helps to make dry skin look more moist and sexy. There is no real color to this one–just glittery shimmer. The product looks bronze in the bottle, but if any tint is in there, it is so sheer and minimal you will not notice it. Still, as shimmer products go, this one is good, with points for the all-in-one twist open/close plastic bottle with cap that keeps the product from leaking and spilling.
Brush 130 Short Duo Fibre ($38.00 U.S. / $45.50 CDN)A short, round dual fibre with flat head composed of both natural bristles and synthetic fibres ideal for application with creams, emulsions & various powder products.
