Right at the start of Fashion Week makeup artist Jackie Gomez held a chic soiree at Rogue Space in Chelsea Gallery, Manhattan. As we sipped Skinny Vine wines and Nibbles, including Baked by Melissa cupcakes, we walked around and admired the flower arrangements by Pedestals Floral Decorators.
Editors gathered to oogle a display of Jackie’s personal favorite makeup items of the year. Jackie, who reminds me of a prettier version of a Kardashian, has over 10 years of experience as a celebrity makeup artist. Jackie’s celebrity clientele includes some of the biggest stars in the business, such as Beyoncé, Solange Knowles, Sara Ramirez, and Marisa Miller. Currently, she is the Brand Ambassador for St. Tropez Tan, and in the past has worked with Pür Minerals and the National Honey Board. No wonder when I asked her “sotto voce” which one of these products she really couldn’t live without, she immediately said: San Tropez Self Tanner.” What I liked so much about Jackie was her sweet and attentive manner. If she is that way with a roomful of editors, I imagine she is amazing, one on one! She believes makeup is the international tool used to make every woman look and feel amazing. This is the core of Jackie’s Face the Beauty Philosophy.
