For Spring 2018 Mary Kay has developed some really beautiful and affordable products including an exciting Essentials Makeup Brush Set and a Limited Edition Satin Body Collection.
These make great gifts for Mothers Day as well as a treat for yourself!
If you are already a fan of the Mary Kay Satin Hands white tea collection (see our 2016 holiday review), you will be very excited about the new and limited edition (through July 2018) Mary Kay Satin Body Collection.
Now indulge with a full collection of Mary Kay Satin Body. The spa-style products are all infused with natural shea butter and the soft scent of white tea and a hint of florals and citrus. The packaging is a perfect pick-me-up for spring: creme with yellow-green accents.
They look and feel like they should be very expensive, but they’re really quite affordably priced. Depending upon your budget you can justify splurging on the entire collection or just on your favorites. They’re also very hydrating without being overly greasy.
The Satin Body White Tea and Citrus collection is large, but we tried a couple of the Satin Body products:
The Mary Kay Satin Body Revitalizing Shea Scrub, $18 to gently slough away dry dead skin cells, and then moisturize with emollient shea butter and sunflower oil.
Hydrate elegantly with the Satin Body Silkening Shea Lotion, $18 in flip top tube featuring shea butter and Vitamin E, and lasts for up to 24 hours. The soft white tea and floral fragrance is a wonderful way to start your day, or kick-start an evening event!
There’s also a nicely boxed (we’re not showing the box) Special-Edition* Whipped Shea Cream, $22 in a jar, featuring a richer formula with shea butter, mango butter, sunflower oil, and apricot kernel oil. A little goes a long way!
First, check out the chic, slim, textured black nylon travel case with a surround zipper. It opens to reveal 5 individual and elasticised pockets to hold one of five must-have brushes with synthetic bristles (compatible with liquid, cream and powder):
When you’re purchasing makeup brushes, you want the bristle heads to be uniform so they don’t’ streak the products. These are perfectly formed, and since they’re “faux” fibers they are great for those who can’t or don’t want animal hair. But another bonus is that synthetic fibers pick up all makeup formulas well.
The smooth, matte black handles are labeled with their main use (great idea!s). They’re also just the right size for at-home use but they’re still short enough to fit into that slim tote for travel.
The brushes selected for this set really are the most essential: All-Over Powder Brush; Cheek Brush; All-Over Eye Shadow Brush: Eye Crease Brush and an Eye Smudger Brush.
The Blush brush is also thoughtfully shaped. It’s softly beveled, to give you contouring greatness as well as color, without a struggle. The three eyeshadow brushes let you color your lids, smudge and define easily too. Synthetic bristles work really well with finishing powders to diffuse the product and make your skin look more flawless.
Even if Mom already owns makeup brushes, this high-performance set of brushes can help her take her skills to another level. However, if she’s new to applying makeup with pro-style brushes, this set gives her what she needs to get started (there’s even an instruction booklet) in a beginner-friendly way.
You can also buy brushes separately from Mary Kay ranging from $10-$18 each. Cleanse them with Mary Kay Brush Cleaner ($10/6 fl. oz.).
