Maybelline has a major mascara fanbase. Their original Great Lash Mascara was created in 1971 and it’s still so popular today that one tube is purchased every two seconds (that’s 40,000 sold every day). That’s awesome. But the brand keeps evolving with new products to try. The photo above was from a limited edition of Great Lash in bold colors. But what about the other mascaras? They’re pretty awesome as well. In perusing the Maybelline Website I counted more than 51 different mascaras types and formulas that do different things. Many of these are available in a variety of colors, too.
Don’t Let It Dry:
Advicesisters.com has reviewed an abundance of Maybelline products including mascaras over the years. However, I tend to add another coat of mascara once I think the first coat has “set” to avoid clumping. But apparently, I’ve been doing it all wrong. In researching Maybelline’s mascaras, I noticed that the application suggestions for every type of mascara suggest that you don’t wait to apply the next coat.
Maybelline Lash Sensational:
Don’t get me wrong. I still love the original Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. However, one of my new favorites is Maybelline Lash Sensational. The hefty tube of mascara features a comb and fanning brush to get all the lashes and coat them without flopping. This is a washable mascara (there’s a waterproof version too). For activities or in the Summer I choose waterproof, but when I’m doing a virtual meeting at home or just for ease of removal,
I like the option of a washable mascara. This mascara is infused with rosehip oil to condition lashes. It comes in 4 shades of black. I tried “Very Black” which was in fact, very black! Maybelline’s exclusive fanning mascara brush with ten layers of bristles reveals layers of lashes, adding the look of length and volume.
Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara:
If you want long thick lashes, Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara is a great choice. It is also a large tube with metallic copper lettering. It offers length and volume thanks to a flex tower brush that looks like a 3d mini pine tree. I tried “Blackest Black” and “Very Black.” Truthfully, I didn’t see a whole lot of difference in the color.
If you wear a lot of mascara, you know that it can smudge all over the place when you want to remove it. But Maybelline has mascara removers to handle it. Personally, I like Micellar water that seems to remove just about anything you can throw at it. Since I tried the Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara that is a washable type, it is easier to remove.
This mascara is infused with bamboo extract and fibers for long, full & lightweight lashes, that doesn’t flake or smudge. If you have sensitive eyes or wear contacts, you can get the look of “fabulous faux” lashes without making your eyes sting as it removes easily. Just keep applying until your lashes are as “sky-high” as you like them!
The Falsies Lash Lift Mascara:
With a name like “The Falsies Lash Lift,” you know what to expect. The tube is tall and slim for both the washable and waterproof mascara. The applicator wand brush is hefty. It looks like a woman wearing a corset because it’s curved in the middle. Maybelline calls it a “patented spoon brush.” Whatever you want to call it, this is going to coat every single lash and then some.
The Kera-Fiber Formula builds 8X more volume so your lashes look thicker. But despite the fibers that do the heavy lifting in this mascara, it’s ophthalmologist-tested and ok for contact lens wearers. with a name such as The Falsies Lash Lift you know you’re going to get a bold look.
I tried the washable version in “Very Black” and a softer, brownish-black in the waterproof version.
In case you’re wondering which of the whopping variety of mascaras from Maybelline you’d like to try, consider that the waterproof version of The Falsies Lash Lift was dubbed Best Lengthening Mascara of 2020 in the Allure Best of Beauty Awards.
Falsies washable comes in three shades of black, and the waterproof version is in two shades of black. I’m so glad there is a choice because I want them all.
