Pure Monster Sound makes these earbuds something special
By Alison Blackman & Anthony Sabatini
Overall Comments from Alison Blackman: Look, and listen, and you will understand why MONSTER sound blows us away in every audio product they make. Although we try to be impartial in our reviews on advicesisters.com, Monster audio headphones and earbuds excite us every time we hear them, some of which we deemed “near perfect.”
Advicesisters.com’s Tech Columnist Anthony Sabatini and I set out to see what differentiates these two MONSTER Clarity HD headphone/earbuds from so many others. We tested both these headphones on a variety of music players and smart phones genres such as rock and roll, and classical and choral music, and by speaking through the ControlTalk microphones. The sound was in three words: sharp, clear, delightful.
The new year is nearly here. Music helps get you going and feel more joyful during the cold and dark Winter months ahead. For affordable sound in high quality earbuds that we think will literally blow you away, we’re suggesting MONSTER Clarity corded or Bluetooth High Definition earbuds. Either style of these MONSTER ear buds are a great investment. The Bluetooth wireless version are called Clarity HD High Definition “earbud replacements” while the MONSTER Clairity HD corded version are called “in-ear headphone.” No matter what they’re called, they are in-ear earbuds — but not just any earbuds! Here are our comments!
MONSTER Clarity HD Bluetooth earbuds (Srp. $80.00)
Tony’s REVIEW OF THE MONSTER Clarity HD Bluetooth earbuds ($80.00):
The hallmark of Monster is the delivery of un-distorted and accurate, clear “pure Monster sound” over the limits of what the physical headphone can do. The reason there is so much variance between all of the different earbuds that are available is that the materials and methods that are used to construct them each have individual audio properties. and it is the proper compensation of these individual audio “imperfections” which result in a superior product. For example, by definition the sound creation source in an earbud is very small and small does much better with high frequencies than low. It is the compensation for this while not producing base distortion which highlights a good pair of earbuds like those from Monster.
The second major defining feature of an earbud is how well and how comfortably it fits in the ear (how well it about whether it falls out and positions itself properly to give the best sound in your ear). Both earbud styles we are reviewing are both lightweight, and extremely comfortable, ergonomically designed so that they won’t . The earbuds have an ergonomically designed, slightly angled shape, making them not just amazingly comfortable to wear in-ear, but also helping to block out ambient noise and keeping them securely in your ear as you move. In both the Monster earbuds work exceptionally well.
When it comes to the Clarity HD High Definition Earbud Replacement With Bluetooth Wireless, I liked these a great deal. Wireless earbuds are very convenient but introduce their own set of issues, not the least of which is you have to remember to charge them and, because there is limited battery power, compromises are needed to conserve battery which effect the sound. A wired earbud can produce significantly more base than a wireless one. These are much better than most in that respect, but the frequency range is still more limited than it’s wired sibling. on the wireless the sound did not go down as low, so it sounded like it was more in the central range of sounds. For the average consumer this not be an issue. Don’t forget to turn off the headphone or they won’t work when you turn them on again. Our in black (there’s Black Platinum as well), delighted us.
Alison’s review of the MONSTER Clarity HD Bluetooth earbuds: These wireless earbuds are superior to many of the wireless versions I have previously reviewed, both in comfort and in sound. They feature Clarity HD high definition sound with a 3-button ControlTalk Universal in line microphone (the control of which are positioned close to your ear for easy access). In addition, the wireless earbuds can be adjusted in the back so you can hide them under your collar, or hair for a customized fit. The nicely boxed earbuds arrive with 3 different sizes of earbud covers, a little pouch for storage and a micro USB cable to charge it the earbuds. These have noise isolation which works, but it doesn’t shut out everything so you couldn’t hear a vehicle, honking a warning at you. A bonus is the innovative battery design that gives you more than 5 hours of listening time on a charge.
Everyone has a preference, and in all honesty, sometimes I don’t even want to deal with syncing the Bluetooth, although it’s easy enough. I just want “plug and play.” But the sound is excellent, and delivers everything you’d want in a high quality Bluetooth earbud. If you don’t like the look of a dangling cord, or dealing with carrying it around, or you’re being active and a cord is just not a good idea, these Bluetooth earbuds will delight you every time you use them. Maybe I’m just lazy, but that’s why there’s a style from MONSTER with something for everyone. Also, the Bluetooth earbuds are $80.00 and the corded version is just $50.00
MONSTER Clarity HD Earbuds (Srp. $50.00)
Alison’s Review: Clarity HD High Definition Earbuds by MONSTER ($50.00) . These are my newest “go-to” for earbuds. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways! First, the signature, Pure Monster Sound” is clear, and fabulous when you’re using a music player or a phone. You get the kind of exciting sound that lets you hear things nuances in music that you never even knew were there. While it’s not live, you still feel the music more intensely.
While I consider most earbuds’ primary use is for listening to music, I’ve used these a great deal for phone calls when I don’t want to disturb anyone (using earbuds keeps you from “yelling” on the phone), and also for times when there is a super-noisy environment and you can’t hear what the other person is saying on the phone if you just hold it up to your ear. . Our review sample was white with elegant silver accents, but it didn’t look as good as the black and black and pink version’s we’re showing you. There is also a black and green version we like.
Monster says the cable won’t tangle (it does, a little, still less than most), but things can still get caught up in it (e.g. keys) in my pocket or purse. I would have preferred a fabric covered cord, even though this one is lightweight. The ControlTalk microphone is fabulous, but the controls are a round disk without raised guides that looks nice, but until you get used to it, you may fumble around a bit.
Tony’s Review: Clarity HD High Definition Earbuds by MONSTER: Again, these are great earbuds. The sound was slightly better than the wireless earbuds. Another plus is that with corded styles like this, no charging is needed so you can use them as long as your phone or music player is working. They have the same slightly angled, ergonomic design as the wireless earbuds –very, very comfortable and they won’t fall our of your ears like some other brands of earbuds. These also have noise isolation, but I could still carry on a conversation, easily. These deliver that signature clear, Pure Monster Sound. They’re a fabulous find at a very user-friendly price.
