I’ve been dreaming of going on Safari and seeing the big cats and other African wildlife. Since the closest, I’ll be getting to an African Safari and a “big cat” right now is Nike, my big Main Coon (in my cover photo), I’m getting Safari-ready with Morgan Taylor nail lacquer colors inspired by the colors of the African Landscape.
The Colors:
The colors are warm and mostly deep, inspired by the colors one might find in the African landscape while on Safari. They’re not your usual autumn leaf colors either. These rich colors are unique, and they really add warmth to your hands. They’re a good match for Falls’ wools and tweeds!
6 New Shades:
These colors really compliment my fair to medium skin tone, but the colors are very different, giving everyone a favor. If you’re is blue, there’s one for you! If you love brown, there is one the color of the African ground.
I won’t be “lion” when I tell you that there’s even one the color of a lion’s mane. Follow my photo to see the actual colors. My descriptions are below this photo.
No Cell? Oh Well!(bottom left) This is a pearled-blue so deep it looks almost like a midnight sky. Although it’s blue, it’s dark enough to wear without feeling too cutesy or “teen.”
Wanna Share a Tent? (top left) For berry, red and wine color lovers Morgan Taylor offers this gorgeous, rich garnet red pearl but it’s not really that pearly, so it feels elegant and luxurious.
Are You Lion to Me (middle of photo). It’s a very deep pewter with a lot of warmth and lots of shimmer to it. When it dries down it could be the color of a lion’s mane.
Off the Grid (top right) This is described as a blackened brown creme (top right), but to my eyes, it looks like a deep, brown plum.
No Sudden Mauves (middle right) Every collection should include a pretty pink-ish color. This one is a medium rose mauve with a medium pearl formula. When it dries down there’s a lot of warmth to it, almost like clay color.
Neutral by Nature (bottom right): It’s a new take on a warm beige creme that has a lot of warmth so it looks noticeable, not too white or light.
Where to Buy
The African Safari Collection from Morgan Taylor is a limited edition ($9/each). You can find it beginning in August 2018 at select salons but I’m giving you a heads up!
*note: I didn’t get the traditional Gelish polish that does with this collection for review, but Gelish soak off polish is available in these colors as well. For more information visit MorganTaylor.com and gelish.com/
