Morgan Taylor’s Fall 2022 collection is ‘Plaid Reputation.” Plaid is a classic design that will always be all over the stores and on fashionistas everywhere when the weather starts to chill. Read all about this nail lacquer/Gelish/dip collection!
My lifelong love affair with plaid began with a lunchbox. I had one just like in the photo above when I was about 7 years old. I took it to day camp every day. Before I even opened the box to see what mom had packed inside, the bright colors on the outside always made me feel happy.
Later on in life, I purchased a bunch of bright and pastel Mohair plaid scarves in Scotland. I am in Florida where I don’t get to wear them, but I am keeping them anyway!
What Morgan Taylor Says about the Plaid Reputation Collection:
“Plaid Reputation is a retro revival that reimagines the fashionable colors and patterns from eras past. This shade range features six brand new, stunningly crafted autumnal hues. With its mix of soft neutrals balanced by ultra-rich statement shades, this collection has a little something for everyone!” according to Morgan Taylor.
What’s in the Collection?
Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I’m starting with stock photos of the nail lacquer, Gelish, and Dip. Read on to hear what I think these colors are like in real life and not just in the bottle.
The Morgan Taylor Plaid Reputation Colors:
My first thought was that the colors were rather subdued. But what you see in the bottle isn’t always the same as what you see on your nails. They really come to life once they are applied.
For example, “It’s All About the Twill” is billed as a “lilac grey pearl and it looks like a silvery mauve in the bottle.” However, on my fingers, it is almost a metallic grey depending upon the light. “Tweed Me” looks really light in the bottle, but the nude creme has a lot more warmth once it’s on the nails.
Here are my thoughts on the other colors.
Follow Suit (a deep purple pearl) – it looks black in the bottle but dries down to a dark intense purple. Like All About the Twill, this one changes with the light.
Tartan The Interruption (a deep scarlet crème) – this color looks deep, rich, velvety, and perfect for Fall into Winter.
Tailored For You (a grey-blue crème) – the medium deep blue/grey is fairly subdued but still deep and wearable. It’s a nice alternative to the navy and blackened blue colors we’ve seen in past seasons.
Wool You Love Me? (a dusty sand crème) – this is your Fall alternative to soft pink. The flesh-tinted creme is soft and inconspicuous but still adds opaque color to your nails.
Nail Tech Approved:
I brought the Morgan Taylor “it’s all about the twill” and “tweed me” to my local nail salon for this story (you can see my nails in the photo above).
Morgan Taylor says that their nail lacquer has been voted a favorite by salon professionals 7 years in a row But my salon doesn’t use Morgan Taylor nail lacquer. I bring my own because I prefer Morgan Taylor to any of the other brands they have.
I was surprised that the nail tech didn’t know anything about it. However, the minute she opened the bottle and started applying the polish to my nails she couldn’t stop talking about how great the ergonomic (in one swipe) brush was. She gushed about how easily the color application was. I wouldn’t be surprised if I see Morgan Taylor on their shelves, soon!
So buy yourself some trendy plaid for the season, and wear “Plaid Reputation” on your nails to make a Fall statement. For more information visit Morgan Taylor! https://www.morgantaylorlacquer.com/
