Sugar, ah honey honey
You are my candy girl
And you’ve got me wanting you.
Honey, ah sugar sugar
You are my candy girl,
And you got me wanting you
(from “Sugar Sugar” by The Archies)
If you are old enough to remember the upbeat ditty called: “Sugar Sugar” by the garage band, The Archies, you might understand just why I felt compelled to replace the original lyrics to sing about something lovely; Tocca’s Esfoliante Esfoliante da Corpo, moisturizing, sugar-based body scrubs ($32.00 6.8 fl. oz.). This sugar-based body scrub that contains grape seed, olive and and safflower oils, along with some gritty, crushed, olive granules, to effectively and thoroughly exfoliate dry skin. Rubbed gently (this isn’t a wimpy scrub) into your skin, the rich oils and sensational fragrance work in harmony to get rid of any dry or scaly skin and leave your body smooth, silky and softly scented. Another thing to love about this particular product is that it is housed in a clear plastic flip top tube. For starters, you can safely leave it on your tub or shower without fear it will shatter. Also, you can see how much scrub is left. Finally, and most importantly, there is nothing the Advice Sisters hate more than sticking their hands into a jar of well…anything. If your hands are wet, a jar of exfoliator is bound to leave water in the jar to sit and get stagnant, contaminating the product. Also, products in jars are just so much more susceptible to contamination from everything they come in contact with. A flip top tube is not just more hygienic, it also means you can take it with you without feat that it will break in transit.
Now, the the good stuff. There are three different fragrances: Giulietta (pink tulip and green apple); Stella (Italian Blood Orange) and the one I tried, Cleopatra (grapefruit and cucumber). To be perfectly honest, I have samples all of these Tocca scents, and they are all lovely. But Cleopatra was inspired by Egypt’s Cleopatra, with a tart and fruity scent the reminds me of cranberries or pomegranate even more than grapefruit. It’s an uplifiting scent, that kept me massaging the exfoliator into my skin longer than usual. Cleo was a true seductress and a powerful woman who re-imagined herself as the reincarnation of an Egyptian goddess, Isis. Who could resist Cleopatra?!
Ever yours the guinea pig, I tried it on just one side of my Winter-weary legs and arms. The result? Really smooth, soft, scented, me where I used the product, and dry, dull skin where I didn’t!
No matter which of these three enchanting fragrances you favor, you may also soon be compelled to sing in the shower: ” Scrub Me, Oh Sugar Sugar! You are my Tocca, Girl, and You’ve Got Me Wanting You.” Get yours and check out the entire range of beauty from Tocca at http://www.tocca.com/products/
