It has been a while since I updated you on my zerona laser follow up and continued saga with new thoughts about losing weight with Dr. Nicholas Ungaro of Better Body Solutions (260 Madison Avenue , NYC).
I started investigating the “lunchtime lip” treatments that Better Body Solutions administers, way back before last season’s fashion week began. In fact, I remember running through the raindrops near Bryant Park to get some nutritional supplements that clients are asked to take before (and during) the zerona laser treatments begin.
Fashion Week in Bryant Park is going to start again mid February. I can’t believe how fast the time has flown by! As a recap: I did try the Zerona Laser but I didn’t get the results I really expected. Dr. Ungaro suspected that something else was blocking my way to weight loss. After all, others have gotten good to spectacular results from the zerona laser. Just my luck…it didn’t work quite as well for me. But the Doctor agreed to continue working with me to see what was making my body so stubborn.
He suspected it was Cortisol issues. Cortisol is a stress hormone that, if not properly regulated by your body, can contribute to weight gain and also, difficulty losing weight. I did a cortisol test, and the laboratory somehow lost or botched it. So I’ve recently re-done it. This time, the results are in, but I still don’t know what they say, or mean.
I am seeing Dr. Ungaro to go over the cortisol test results next week. In preparation, he has also had me fill out a four page questionnaire including a metabolic assessment form that might help unearth any behaviors or other impediments to weight loss.
Meanwhile, I continue to work out with my personal trainer, Carl Ditmars, and hope for the best!
