I believe in honesty, but when it comes to your face, a bit of concealer can go a long way to making you look better. Alas, most concealers, no matter the formula, look like you dabbed a ” little something” that can sometimes look like you’ve just added a big, neon arrow pointing right to the thing you want most for people to ignore. They reveal as much (or more), than they cover up. Not true for NARS’ newest Radiant Cream Concealer ($28.00) in a rainbow of 10 nude hues (that compliment the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer and foundations) and that actually cover, without making it obvious that you used it!
The wand-ed tube of opaque concealer is not just long lasting, it is build-able, so you can dab a teeny bit on a “zit” or layer a bit more on a big blemish, on dark circles, or whatever imperfection you want to blur or completely annihilate! The Radiant Creamy Concealer blends perfectly with even bare skin, and it won’t crease, clump or fade when you need it most. And, on top of that, light diffusing technology means luminosity that automatically helps your complexion look better.
But that’s not just the only benefit under the proverbial hood of this product (well, more like under the wanded applicator in the tube — but I’m trying for a good analogy). This awesome NARS concealer is good for all skin types. It is dermatologist tested and non-comodeogenic. There isn’t any drying alcohol or irritating fragrance (this is particuarly important when you’re applying products so close to your eyes). It doesn’t contain harmful parabens, sulfates and Phthlates. And it hydrates, firms, reduces redness, and even offers antioxidant protection to protect the skin against damaging free radicals. Key ingredients work hard for your money: -Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract and Tocopheral improve the overall condition of the skin. -Magnolia Officinalis Bark Extract increases skin hydration, firmness, and elasticity in eye area; provides antioxidant benefits; reduces water loss and skin redness/irritation. Titanium Dioxide, Mica, and Tin Oxide work to optically correct, not mask, skin imperfections. They optically enhance the radiance and freshness of the skin by balancing uneven skint ones. And just as a final, beautifying touch, silica: blurs and optically reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by diverting light.
Notice that I’m using the word “optically a lot. It mean, “to the eye.” This would be more than enough to make the Advice Sisters wax poetic about the NARS concealer samples we were sent to review, but according to NARS, there are some benefits to the product that do more than just please the eye. There are measurable skin improvements. I can’t quantify them, but they’re pretty impressive, so I’m including the NARS results. It would be nice to think that a concealer could do so much —
