Way back in the Fall, I reviewed Nanette Lepore’s hot-off-the-press fragrance: Nanette by Nanette Lepore. I instantly loved it!
The scent is classified as a “floriental,” and it’s spicy, but not so much you can’t wear it in the daytime. Nanette by Nannette Lepore was created by perfumer Anne Flipo of IFF, with the designer, Nanette Lepore. There are top notes of pink pepper, neroli and glazed rose petals. The heart is a mix of rose absolute, violet and muguet, and the drydown is a spicy, sensual amber, incense and cedarwood. The incense note gives the fragrance an edge,
I mostly sense the amber and woody notes: mysterious and smooth, and rich. My senses didn’t pick up a lot of florals — not even the violet note (a nod to Lepore’s 11-year-old daughter’s name). With love for her own daughter at the heart of the fragrance, how can you not want it for your own Mom this Mother’s Day?
I love to smell this on my own skin, and I liked the way it smelled on others, too. Your own, personal, body chemistry will help make Nanette by Nannette Lepore, your own. And the fragrance, lasts and stays true, without changing on your skin from something you love, to something you don’t.

I like the presentation, too. The fragrance comes nestled into a black, hard-sided, rectangular box, with pink blush letters and a single, pink, lower case “n’ logo. Inside, there’s a chunky of glass that is fashioned into a graceful bottle to hold the pale, gold juice. This bottle was inspired by an antique find of Lepore’s. It reminds me of a bell, or a tiered cake, topped with a fancy, faceted, clear plastic top evocative of a precious gem. The presentation is special, and lovely. Girly, but for women, not “girls.”
