In the heart of Hell’s Kitchen at Exit Art, Ainsley previewed her Fall collection. The style is user-friendly and wearable, but with cutting edge elements. The models showcased in the 8,000 square feet of alternative space, bearing impressions of the past with appreciation for the new. In the far left corner near a two foot “Pow Wow drum” surrounded by embellished river rocks, the models displayed clothing with an array of colors. There were blue and gold marled yarn sweaters, and copper leather trousers. In the opposite corner mounted models on “horses” cantered about in a grandfather cardigan with printed pleated skirt and a blue velvet blazer, and a printed blouse with tie and suede wide leg pants . In the center of this American Indian-themed thesis, three models sashayed along a “gemstone tenergy path” while draped in a bronze mohair gown, watercolor printed jumpsuit, watercolor blouse and a silk pleated high-low skirt. Messy, undone braids and fresh looking faces added to the casual, earthy allure.
The aura of this collection emitted a peaceful calm that was felt by everyone in the room. This is a lovely way to dress for those chilly, casual days of Fall that will be coming up sooner than you realize!
