The No!No! Classic
Back in 2007, The Advice Sisters reviewed a new and remarkable device for home use called the No!No! by Radiancy. It was (and still is) a nearly magical way to remove unwanted hair from the body without pain, messy solutions, or expensive salon or medispa visits. Even better, the more you use No!No! the less often shaving is necessary, because the hair grows back finer, and slower.
At the time, I mentioned the No!No! (now called No!No! Classic) reminded me of an MP3 player in fun colors like black, pink and blue.
But now there’s a new, sleeker No!No! 8800 in a slim, silver or pink case that is about the size of a voice recorder. But while the No!No! is simple to use, it’s a powerful little machine that’s really effective.
No!No! was created for consumers to use at home. The devices uses a “Thermicon” technology, developed by Radiancy, that uses heat to emit a gentle wave of heat that painlessly destroys hair follicles but without destroying the surrounding skin. For those who love tech speak, there are two heads or tips if you will, that make the No!No! work. The first one is larger, for larger, flatter areas like legs, arms, back and chest, and there is also a smaller one for facial hair, knees, elbows, bikini line and other curved and sensitive areas. Both heads/tips have a thermodynamic wire transmitting heat to the hair. You can smell the hair burning (this is a bit disconcerting but you quickly get used to it and the smell reassures you it’s working) but No!No! research has shown that hair growth is significantly reduced.
The hair removal is fast and completely painless, but actually, four steps occur while you’re using the No!No! In Step One: hair is removed at point of contact and the thermal signal begins the disruption in growth communication. Stage Two: in this “crystallization: stage, no!no! sends a thermal signal that crystallizes the upper part of the hair shaft. Stage Three: a thermal effect occurs within the follicle whereby hair growth communication between the bulge and root are disrupted. Reduction in hair density occurs in Stage Four, after repeated sessions have occurred. With continued use, hair gets lighter, sparser, and let noticeable.
In speaking with Radiancy representatives, I learned that they had five goals in mind when creating No!No! For starters, it had to be effective. It had to be safe, and simple to use. I had to be cost effective (the new No!No! costs $270.00 but it can really save you money –more on that in a moment). In addition, the No!No! had to be long lasting (the heads last a lot longer now–up to six months instead of just three, depending upon how much you use the No!No!).
The No!No! comes with an instruction guide and a small CD, plus two buffer pads for after the treatment, a charger, and a cleaning brush. Also available are a carry case and No!No! smooth products that enhance your skin (but you can use your own lotions and potions aprez treatment, too). You can also get videos and learn more on the No!No! web site.
Honestly, this product is pretty intuitive. The rechargeable, No!No! 8800 has an on/off button on the bottom (you hold it down for a few seconds to turn it on) and a lighted, digital display on the top of the device showing one of three selectable levels of heat. You can change the level thanks to a button right under the display, based on preference and what type of hair removal head you’re using. When you are using the device, the levels change to the levels left on the head (should last up to six months). You get two small and two large heads with your No!No! but when the wire on the head is bent out, for safety, the device blinks red and it won’t “fire.” You can get replacement heads, however.
The most challenging thing about using the No!No! is mastering the angle at which you hold the tip of the device to your skin. If it’s making contact properly, a blue light is emitted along with a sound. This takes a bit of practice on bumps and curves, but it’s really not rocket science. The smell of burning hair will also give you a clue that the No!No! is working. If you use retinol or other potentially irritating products, you might want to keep the No!No! on a lower level and you should use the device before bathing or putting on skin cream. You can even use No!No! with self tanners a few hours after you’ve applied them.

This No!No! is for men but works the same as the No!No! 8800 in silver or pink
You might wonder, since it’s pricey, who the No!No! will appeal to most. The answer is, just about everyone who wants to remove hair from a body part. You can use it literally, from head to toe. Men, for example, apparently are liking the No!No! to “manscape” and also for that bald headed look so popular nowadays. There is a No!No! just for men with a black case, but it’s essentially the same. Unlike some devices that are built “just for one” you can share No!NO! with someone else. Women use it for legs, under-arms and bikini, plus both sexes can use it on the face. The retail is $270.00 but according to my sources, the average person spends more than $250 a year on razors and shaving cream alone. And salon or medispa visits for epilation, waxing or laser treatments, cost much more. No!No! is always ready for you when you want it, and it is small so you can easily take it on vacation. You also get a one year Manufacturer’s Warranty and 60 day Triple Guarantee from No!No!
So does it work? Luckily some technology is truly amazing, and the No!No! fits into that category. When I tried the No!No! (Classic) back in 2007 I noticed results within a few weeks. This new No!No! is just as effective, but it is smaller and sleeker, and has more bells and whistles (e.g. the digital read-out and heat selection buttons). Another thing I really like about No!No! is that it doesn’t cut up my legs like razors can but it works so much better. And it doesn’t hurt. For someone with sensitive skin and a low tolerance for pain, this is a major inducement to keep using it (and the more you use it, the more effective it is).
When you add up all the inconvenience and cost of at-home and/or professional hair removal, No!No! racks up impressive brownie points for efficiency, cost effectiveness and frankly, satisfaction. Use it, and go weeks longer without having to deal with unwanted hair this Summer. No!No! is YES! YES!

I have heard about No! No! Hair removal system, It’s very good system to remove unwanted hair at home. But, I have never used it, I have used TRIA laser hair removal system and it works good for me without any skin damage and pain.
I have and do use the nono hair device – I bought it about 3 months ago in September 2013 and I think I have the new one (the 8800) that the sisters reviewed here.
I will tell you, it is definitely the best method for getting rid of my hair. It is a bit better than waxing / shaving – keep in mind, you will still have to repeat the process using the nono several times just like a pro waxing place or shaving but it seems to last a bit longer and my hair grows back a little thinner each time.
Plus I don’t have to pay each time to get a “treatment” – So I save some money, get the same if not better results and I don’t have to leave the house – the no no hair removal thing is definitely worth a shot. I bought it after I read some stuff on one of their info sites (http://www.nonohairtv.com)
I’m not one to usually review but I love the Advice Sisters and my nono was one of my better TV buys! 🙂
