Noon By Noor’s designers are friends and actual cousins, Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa.. They both studied fashion design in the United States, but returned to the Middle East, to Bahrain. The name for the line, Noon By Noor, comes from the Arabic letter ‘N’, pronounced as ‘noon’.
This season some of the designs also featured a large golden feather, a reference to the “Bulbul” the national bird of Bahrain.
For the fortunate guests in the front row, the same feather embellishment seen on the runway, was made into a sugar candy to take home.
The inspiration for the collection was also drawn from Bahrain’s starry night sky. The obvious connection was a lot of black fabric glitzed up with lurex threads in dots or stripes.
Bahrain is an island nation in the Middle East consisting of the main island, Al Bahrayn, and some smaller islands and islets. It’s in the Persian Gulf East of Saudi Arabia, north of Qatar.
Perhaps that’s why, considering this Fall Winter 2017 Noon by Noor Collection, and checking my reviews and photos of some past Noon by Noor seasons, including the Fall 2013 Noon by Noor Runway collection, I am struck by how modest the fashions are.
None of the fashion was body-conscious nor did the models show much skin. A few of the evening gowns had a cut-out back or a one-shoulder look r is it for those who want to show a lot of skin, The designs would flatter just about any body type or age, and the bright pops of pink, yellow, blue, and white made everything feel happy and fun.

Runway Beauty:
I wasn’t backstage for this show, but the lead makeup artist was Syndle Komarovksi and Management + Artists.
The use of yellow/golden shadow was a bold choice, and it worked well to add a pop of color to the otherwise natural face look.
The hair was mostly straight with crimping, slicked into submission, done by lead hairstylist Paolo Suffiati and Bryant Artists for Mr. Smith.
The Manis were by Priv with polish by LVX.
