When I want to recommend a luxury home scent, one of the first that comes to mind, is NEST. Although it’s a bit of a bad pun, I can’t help but say that the single word: NEST, brings the concept of luxury fragrance home to roost. You can find fragranced items everywhere and at every price point, but truly elegant, beautifully presented candles, diffusers, and bath & body products, make every day just a little bit more satisfying, and are worth a bit extra.
There is true power in aromatherapy and beautiful fragrance. Smell one, and you are uplifted. NEST uses authentic fruits and florals to make fragrances that can truly change your mood, maybe even your outlook and therefore, your life.
Laura Slatkin, founder and owner of Candela Group, co-founded Slatkin & Co. with her husband, Harry and then created NEST. These products just make you feel pampered, both in their packaging and their fragrances, that make your world just smell wonderful.
While NEST is already beloved for home scents, there are also bath and body products in some of the same fragrances that those in the know, already love. From liquid and bar soap, to liquid body wash and hydrating cream, I can’t think of a nicer way to fragrance your home and your body.
I tried the Bath and Body Wash and the Body cream in Moss & Mint. As expected, the fragrance is amazing. It is a melange of garden mint, apple blossom and muguet, infused with hints of oakmoss and vetiver. This is a green scent: light fresh and unisex. It reminds me of walking through a green field, after a rainstorm. The prominent note smells like granny smith apples after you’ve taken the first bite. Delicious! *if you love this fragrance, you can also get it in home scent items such as candles and diffusers.
While the fragrance is incredible, the products are very good. They feature skin-loving ingredients with natural plant extracts, vitamins, and anti-oxidants, in non-drying, paraben-free formulas.
The Body Wash ($28.00 6.7 fl. oz.) has a colorful tube with brown flip top cap to signify the scent, but all the Body Creams ($32.00 6.7 fl. oz.) are housed in chocolate brown tubes, with little bands of color at the top that coordinate with the body washes. With color coding like this, even the most myopic wont’ end up slather body cream in the shower, instead of the body wash!
The satisfying Body Wash features Aloe vera gel to soothe, Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5) to condition, bamboo water, Glycerin and Water-soluble rice bran oil and olive oil-derived humectants to moisturize, Silk protein to blance and lock in moisture, and coconut, corn and oat-derived to gently cleanse.
The Lovely Body Cream makes you feel like you’re ready to take on the day, with this light, fresh fragrance that really lasts on your skin. While the fragrance is light, it really covers like a body veil, so if you’re just not into wearing fragrance, or you just want to have a fresh scent that doesn’t compete with other things, it’s great. The cream itself is full of good for your skin benefits, but with not a trace of heaviness. Slather it all over (great for after the beach or workout) and give your skin the love it needs, without being greasy or sticky. The body cream features a paraben-free formula with conditioning botanical extracts such as French plum oil, grape seed oil and jojoba to moisturize, aloe vera to soothe, Panthenol to condition skin, amber extract and a vitamin complex to offer antioxidant protection, and sweet almond protein to balance.
I didn’t try the other scents, but based on what I already know about NEST, they’re have to be gorgeous. Whether you like fruit or flower, spice or something even more exotic, there is more than one NEST fragrance to make you happy. In the Bath & Body collection there are six: Bamboo, Grapefruit, Moroccan Amber, Orange Blossom, Wasabi Pear, or my fave, Moss & Mint. TIP: light a NEST candle or leave a diffuser in your bathroom in the same fragrance as the one you are using, and you have an instant spa experience!
NEST products can be purchased at specialty stores nationwide, online on the NEST website and At Bergdorf Goodman, or Neiman Marcus and their dot-com sites.
