When I think of body butter, I usually think of it as being all business: something to soothe really chapped, itchy, dry, gross-looking skin that really need a huge amount of moisture-stat!
But body butters these days are not just super moisturizers, they’re really luxurious, with novel scents and non-greasy formulas that make moisturizing, actually fun!
The Advice Sisters first reviewed Pacifica skin care products in the Winter of 2003. We were impressed with the products back then–they way they smelled and the way they revived tired, lack luster skin. In the past, the Pacifica body butters were packed into jars. The great news is that now you can get them in colorful, flip-top tubes. This makes it much more portable. Also, you don’t have to stick your fingers into a jar, possibly contaminating the products and definitely sullying your fingertips!
I tried the Hawaiian Ruby Guava Body Butter, in a hot pink tube with gold flip cap, and a hibiscus graphic that definitely looked regal (and girly) enough for Queen Kaahumanu (b. 1772, d. 1832), King Kamehameha the Great’s favorite wife. The tart fragrance was uplifting and lasted quite some time–perfect if you want something pretty and scented on your skin after a long day at the beach or pool, but not quite as significant as Eau de Toilette or Perfume. Aloha nui loa, Pacifica (very much love, Pacifica)!
Of course, the main purpose of Pacifica Body Butters are the moisturize. These do, beautifully, with good-for-your-skin ingredients such as mango and shea butters, and almond and safflowers oils. They’re paraben-free, 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
Some body butters can be heavy and greasy, but Pacifica’s body butters are easily absorbed. They silken, smell great, and satisfy, without leaving an oil slick behind. The current collection of beautiful, body butters cents include: Hawaiian Ruby Guava, Tuscan Blood Orange, Malibu Lemon Blossom, Lotus Garden, Brazilian Mango Grapefruit, Tahitian Gardenia. You will find more than one that you love. The good news is that an 8 oz tube won’t cost a king’s ransom–they are just $18.00
