The first thing I want you to know about Pacifica makeup, skincare and candles and is that it isn’t about the pretty packaging, although the packaging is very pretty. More importantly, this company produces products that are 100% vegan, gluten-free, and cruelty free.
For many people, this isn’t exciting news, but for others it’s essential information. Pacifica skin care and color is formulated with natural ingredients without animal ingredients, FD&C color, phthalates, parabens, sulfates, propylene glycol, benzene, mineral oil, petroleum, peanut oil, triclosan, and other ingredients that some people prefer not to have on their skin, and others, simply can’t tolerate. And just so you know, Pacifica adheres to strict IFRA standards, a self-governing organization that sets safety standards for all natural and non-natural aroma compounds Even the nail polish is formualted &-free ( a lot of polish companies are simply 3-free). Pacifica  7 FREE Nail Polish is formulated without parabens, phthalates (dibutyl phthalate), toluene, xylene, camphor, formaldehyde, resin, and animals.
Now that I’ve told you a little bit about Pacifica (and you can read a lot more about their philosophy and what’s in the products –and what’s not in the products, on the Pacifica web site), let me get to the point of this post: I remember when “all natural” products used to all mean that the colors and products were, to put it gently, a bit “dull.” But Pacifica has wowed me in the past with on-trend colors and products that would delight me even if I didn’t know they were also so carefully crafted (for example, Last December The Advice Sisters Suggested the Pacifica Enlighten Eye Brightening Shadow Palette as a Holiday Gift Idea).
A new palette is the “Charmed” Eye Shadow Palette ($18.00) . This lovely palette arrives in a box richly decorated with gold metallic accents surrounding a peek-a-boo window so you can see 7 pretty colors ranging from shimmery ivory to pastels, to cocoa–something for everyone.. The intensity is medium-sheer: Unicorn – white with sparkling shimmer; Sky – pearl blue; Charming – pinky peach iridescent ; Sparkle Lilac – shimmering blue; Moody – super moody grayish violet iridescent; Alchemy – crazy beautiful pearly bronze; “Avalon – warm cocoa with golden hues. Of course these are all natural minerals, but even if they weren’t you’d ooogle this palette. The colors look natural, but they’re also user-friendly — there isn’t one in the bunch that you couldn’t wear, no matter your skin tone or eye color.
Add a lash lengthening mascara Aquarian Glaze Water-Resistant Mascara ($14.00) in “Abyss” (black) or “Deep” (deep blue) . Mascara is one of those things that is highly personal, and if your eyes are sensitive, you already know that there are some types that you can’t wear. But this one is made with natural minerals and it still manages to build volume. It also has coconut oil, kelp extract and vitamin B to hydrate each lash as it lengthens and strengthens . The mascara wand is white with a really intricate gold metallic and turquoise design on it. Most mascara wands are just plain old ho-hum black. While I didn’t see any thickening with this mascara (so apply additional coats, or dust a bit of powder on your lashes first, for volume), this brush grabs every single lash and lengths and colors, beautifully.

Pacifica Ultra CC Cream Radiant Foundation SPF 17
This Summer, we featured yet another fabulous Pacifica product, the Pacifica Ultra CC Cream Radiant Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 17 ($18.00). which is a multi-tasking CC cream/foundation in an air-free pump, protecting your skin with non chemical 11.1% Zinc Oxide. The formula is very sheer, so you can use it under another, more full coverage product if you wish. The paraben-free formula has coconut water to help moisturize your skin and anti-aging benefits from a bunch of botanicals, plus a very subtle jasmine fragrance which I barely noticed (but which is touted in the information for the product). It comes in just two tints: Warm/Light and the slightly deeper Natural/Medium. I loved the product, although neither tint was a terrific match for my particular skin tone. read The Advice Sisters complete review of the Pacifica Ultra CC Cream.
Now that the Summer is over, a lot of women are going to have to get their “glow” from products. Pacifica has a new Golden Lotus Highlighting Power ($18.00) that brightens and Illuminates with Coconut Water and Lotus. The precious powder comes in a beautiful, round, golden tin that you could pop into your purse for a sheer, natural highlight, any time. Dust a tiny bit (never overdo the highlight–keep it subtle) on brow bones, cheeks and decolletage. If you wish, dot a bit in the middle of your bottom lip or eyelid, for more emphasis.
There are plenty of other products, including candles and fragrances to choose from, and I hope to bring you more reviews. For now, check out the Pacifica Beauty web site for more information
