Pamella Roland’s Glamour by the Frock-load Spring 2018
Reported by Alison Blackman
On my list of “must-see” NYFW shows was Pamella Roland’s Spring 2018 runway show yesterday at Pier 59 Studios.
Pamella Roland offered 33 looks, one more glamorous than the next.,
They’ll be the stuff of dreams for glamazons who want something head turning be it a long gown or a sparkling party dress.
Roland’s inspiration for this stunning collection was the glamour of dresses of the Grace Kelly era, and an ode to Monaco’s seaside town of Monte Carlo.
There were feathers, beads, flowing trains, crystals, tulle and all manner of luxurious fabrics in a wide variety of colors from blush and lilac, pink, fuchsia, cobalt blue, navy, aqua and of course some black and white.
My experience in Monaco wasn’t quite a star-studded night at the Monaco Grand Prix, as depicted in the Pamella Roland runway notes, but it’s clear that these are occasion (very special occasion) “frocks.”
I’d be hard-pressed to tell you which are really the true stand outs because there’s not a bad one in the bunch! And even better, there’s something for a variety of body types.
Brief Beauty Report:
With dresses this elaborate, a fresh nude face look and smooth, elegant hair worked well. Makeup was by Artistry by Amway (Global Makeup Artist Rick Dicecca) , Hair by Fekkai (Stefanie Francois)., Nails by the amazing Pattie Yankee
