Advicesisters.com has been a longtime fan of Phytomer. This company has a long history of using marine botanicals and sustainable ingredients. The Phytomer CYFOLIA ORGANIC products are 100% Ecocert organic. Some of the products from Phytomer in this story might become your news favorites!
Another thing to like about Phytomer is its eco-friendly packaging. The organic marine botanicals (native to Brittany) are sustainably harvested. Therefore, for Cyfolia, Phytomer swaps its iconic blue and white tubes for sea green and white ones. The plant-based tubes and bottles are recyclable. The cartons are made with FSC-certified paper and vegetable-based inks. New From Phytomer: Body Declic Cellulite and Contouring Cream (more on that further down the story).
Previously-Reviewed Phytomer Cellulite Products:
However, Phytomer has tackled cellulite previously. Back in 2016, we reviewed Phytomer Oceane PhytoOceane Slim Contour Contouring Enhancing Gel. Oceane is one of Phytomer’s brands.PhytoOceane takes its inspiration from natural ingredients from the sea or seashore.
in 2016 we also reviewed Phytomer Body Blur Shaka Shaka, Both of these products use different types of contouring algae to help drain and flush away fat while oils soften your skin.
Tackling Cellulite in 2023:
Cellulite is one of those things that is very difficult to tackle. It depends upon your skin condition and even the best products take time to really work well. If you are patient you may see the desired results. The Body Declic uses the effectiveness of a trio of organic algae combined with natural caffeine that triggers smoothing and contouring. I truly love Phytomer products. but there is no way for me to guarantee that your thighs and waist will become slimmer.
Looking at all the ingredients, over time, I guess it could. But I am not going to tell you that my thighs melted away because really, my body isn’t yours, and whatever works for me might not be the same for you. It might be worse, or even better. On the other hand, it felt pampering and is definitely a self-care product.
Body Declic Key Ingredients:
The three algae in this new Phytomer Body Declic are 100% organic. Here’s what they are supposed to do:
Organic Polysiphonia (red alage): Strongly boosts the activity of *adipocytes. It acts on today’s fats that are more difficult to eliminate due to an overproduction of cortisol. *adipocytes activate microcirculation to improve drainage and fat elimination functions. Halopteris Scoparia (brown algae): Limits the formation of fat and strengthens the collagen network for an anti-cellulite action. Organic Palmaria Palmata (red algae):*major energy storage sites in the body, and they also have critical endocrine functions
This is a new product for Phytomer and I didn’t see on the website anything about how the clinical study was conducted. However, these are what Phytomer claims were the results:
Reduced curves*, Stomach: -13%. Thighs: -17%, Waist & Hips: -14%, Smoothed cellulite* , Smoother skin: +43%
*Clinical scoring after twice daily application on 24 women, for 28 days.
The Bottom Line:
Phytomer spa-style products are wonderful to use and luxurious. But they are also pricey. This Phytomer Bio Declic Cram is SRP. $102 for a 5 oz. tube. On the other hand, if you use this tube twice a day for about a month as in the clinical trials and you get good results, then it’s priceless.
BONUS! Two Other Phytomer Products:
Phytomer Bio-Organic Cyfolia Youth Glow Renewing Cream and Cyfolia Contour Radiance Smoothing Eye Cream are also from the Bio-Organic Cyfolia Collection (see previous reviews). You can see them in my photo above. Both of these excellent products boast natural ingredients from organic Cyfolia algae and organic Marine Samphire to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. They also help to boost radiance and can help protect your skin from blue light. The eye cream is fragrance-free. These products are also ECOCERT certified so if that’s important to you, it’s a good thing!
Refillable Glass Jar:
What’s really new is that the Cyfolia Youth Glow Renewing Wrinkle Cream now comes in a refillable jar. just place the “perfect fit” refill into the glass jar you already have, when you need more. I like the idea.
The downside? at least our editorial sample didn’t come with an applicator. Also, I just broke a glass jar of cream that fell into lots of shards all over the floor. That was a messy, nasty, and expensive cleanup! Be careful handling and storing glass jars with your precious potions in them. The eye cream is in a glass pump bottle, which at least keeps your fingers out of it, Keep both of these of the reach of little hands and furry paws (and in my case) clumsy adults!
