Protect & Serve and Love Your Body With mybody skin care

September 10, 2012 By: Alison Blackman

Summer may be waning, but the sun is still out there, every single day. Whether you’re outside for play or work, daily sun protection is still a must.  I know that many people who care about their skin still feel that what they can’t see, can’t hurt them.  And  there are also plenty of people who know they should use a sun block, but if it doesn’t multi-task, they’re not going to bother unless they are planning a beach vacation. The good news is that there are many sun protection products that really do a lot more than just block the sun’s damaging rays, and these products are available in just about every price point and to suit just about every skin type.

One that I’ve learned of recently that is actually part of a four-step skincare routine, is mybody Protect & serve Sun Shield SPF 40 ($55.002 fl. oz.).  There is a tinted SPF as well that is spf 30 and functions as a moisturizer/primer/foundation/sunscreen and is $65.00.

The Protect & Serve sun screen is Step #4 in a daily and thorough skincare system, (cleanser, treatment, hydrator, SPF), there is no reason that you can’t use just this particular product if you have another skincare regimen you already have and like (more on the other products in a minute).  The SPF 40 is a high performance, oil-free facial sunscreen that shields the skin with broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 40. But it’s also full of essential, anti-aging, antioxidants and it’s good for all skin types, especially those with mature, sensitive or acne-prone skin.  In fact, it is especially recommended for people who are using  Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Hydroquinone and other skin sensitizers. These folks are the very ones for whom sun screens cause the most trouble. This Protect & Serve product is lightweight, and moisturizing, with actives including:  Zinc Oxide (7.5%); Octinoxate (7.5%);  and Octisalate (2.5%). The rich white cream absorbs quickly (use it at least 15 minutes before you are going out into the sun) and the only downside is a very slight, chemical scent that disappears very soon after applying it. I really like this sun screen in a white tube with flip-top cap with enough SPF protection to actually do some good, while it gives your skin nourishment that can help your skin look younger, and stay that way.

If you are interested in considering steps 1-3 for a complete skincare routine, you might be interested to know a bit more about the mybody skincare line. It’s basically sold through doctors  (you can check the web site to see which doctors might be offering these products,  nearest you).  Co-founder, makeup artist Therese Clark, was inspired by her battle with “bad skin” due to a thyroid condition, and her mission to find real solutions for myself and for other women who might also be experiencing similar skin conditions. She created mybody with  skincare “pioneer” David Watson and mybody CEO Christine Watson, and a team of medical experts. The mission? to create  high tech skincare products that are safe, easy and pleasant to use,  paraben and colorant -free, and not tested on animals.According to the press literature: “mybody is founded on the basic idea that when the mind and body are in optimal health, the skin looks and acts younger longer – regardless of age. mybody’s  clinical skincare formulations combine the latest in proven, groundbreaking skin technologies with select ingredients that are in tune with the body to reawaken its own youthful skin processes. Each targeted skincare system works 24/7 to reprogram the skin from within while combating unwanted skin conditions that negatively affect overall balance and well-being.”

mybody has a wide range of products to suit just about every skin type, but especially those with aging, sensitive or acne-prone skin. Some of the skincare issues addressed include: Fine Lines & Wrinkles;  Rough Texture;  Hyperpigmentation;  Dull / Lackluster Skin;  Excessive Dryness;  Redness;  Acne;  Combination Skin;  Dark Under-Eye Circles;  Puffy Eyes; and  Crow’s Feet.  The products are sh0wn online along with their ingredients and how to use them.  This is a bonus for those who really need to know exactly what is in the products they use. While these high performance products come at a price (and those prices are not currently listed on the My Body web site), they’re worth considering, especially if you have  specific and chronic skin issues. If you have a doctor nearby who offers these products, you might want to ask about them and see what other items (besides the sun block which is great for everyone) that you would want to try.  For more information visit the My Body Web Site: http://www.lovemybody.com/
