Make Your Scalp Healthier With RahuaBeauty Scalp Exfoliating Shampoo

What comes first when it comes to cleaning your hair. Most would say shampoo.  There are lotions, potions, shampoos, and styling products that are supposed to keep your hair healthy, but what comes first? Actually, it’s a healthy scalp. If your scalp is healthy your hair will be as well. While it may not be a do it everyday thing, scalp exfoliation brings specific benefits. That’s where Rahua Beauty and their Rahua Scalp Exfoliating Shampoo can help.

What is Scalp Exfoliation?

If you’re familiar with body scrubs that exfoliate your skin, doing this for your scalp is similar. Exfoliation refers to lifting away dead skin cells and debris by either a chemical or naturally sourced product.  By exfoliating your scalp, you help make way for fresh skin and hair follicles to grow — and that means healthier hair.  So just as with did dry skin on your body, exfoliation of the scalp sloughs away the gunk and allows natural oils to keep the hair and scalp nourished.

Buildup is Blecch!

Buildup on your scalp from products, dead skin cells, etc. can cause dandruff and itching. It’s not good to look at and itching is not pleasant. But buildup can also block your hair follicles so hair doesn’t grow as well.

When you exfoliate all the gunk you are creating a healthier environment for hair to grow. Removing dead skin cells also encourages cellular turnover just as it does on your face and body. Along with that, you can remove hard water deposits that can dull the shine.

I should have figured that the Rahua Scalp Exfoliating Shampoo shampoo would have some sort of gritty bits in it to help exfoliate the scalp, remove dead skin cells and build up.  But when I discovered that it did have a gritty texture, I was worried that it would be hard to get out of my hair. Fortunately, it dissolves and washes out completely.I liked the scent with a slight whiff of star anise. The shampoo itself is an unusual color: warm, earthy brown.

So what’s in this Rahua shampoo?

The Rahua Beauty Scalp Exfoliating shampoo features plant-based ingredients to nurture your scalp and hair. The shampoo itself is an unusual color: warm, earthy brown.Symbiotic® Rahua Oil, Symbiotic® Sacha Inchi Oil. Symbiotic® Morete Oil. Star Anise, Organic Passion Fruit, and Organic Mango.

Rahua’s Beauty products are Symbiotic. That means some strict rules about what’s in it and how it’s made. The product has to be made completely from plants and flora that grow wild, deep within natural forests (in this case, the Amazonian rainforest).  The ingredient must be handmade by Indigenous Tribal Communities using ancestral knowledge, and the Indigenous Makers must receive 3x the Fair Trade price. The ingredients also must be purchased from vetted verified SymbioticⓇ sellers.

I used a rich conditioner, but actually, any would have been fine. Rahua suggests that you finish with a cool rinse to boost blood circulation, smooth hair cuticle, and add shine. It’s a good idea to do this even if you’re not using the exfoliation regimen.

Rahua Beauty The Bottom Line:

At $38 for 9.3 fl. oz in a plastic bottle, the Rahu Scalp Exfoliating Shampoo is an investment in your hair health. But you should probably only use it once every week or so (or every 10 shampoos).  I think it is an important step to add to your hair care arsenal. For more information visit the Rahua Website where there are all sorts of delightful products.
