The Advice Sisters enlisted the aid of an actual, adult male, to try the products, because these by Redken are specifically for men. Our male reviewer eyed the gift box with interest, and then sort of shrugged and said that he didn’t see why these products would be any better than soap. Then he actually got down to the business of trying them. The Cleanse acid-balanced cleansing bar was the most familiar, and he liked the smell that seemed to be “clean” and “guy friendly.” So far, so good, but the cleansing bar isn’t just another brick of soap. This one Restores the skins’ natural pH and refreshes with allantoin. Impress him with your knowledge of ingredients by telling him that allantoin is moisturizing and helps skin to heal more quickly so it is great for dry skin and chapped skin, and certainly to help razor burn. Our reviewer also liked the liquid, Go Clean Daily Care Shampoo, with a laid back, clean scent. But there’s more to the product that our reviewer only began to appreciate after he started using it. The shampoo cleanses and conditions and moisturizes hair and scalp (his skin and scalp will get itchy and dry, especially during the Winter months). removes build-up from dirt, sweat and styling products, and helps keep hair stronger and more manageable. The Advice Sisters reviewed another Redken for Men shampoo/conditioner called Redken for Men Clean Spice 2-in-one Conditioning Shampoo, and I wasn’t surprised to see that the bottle in the bathroom was nearly empty about a month later. In fact, our reviewer (sheepishly) asked me if I could get him another bottle. I am not a store! So, I directed him to the Redken For Men website where he could find authorized sales outlets for this product. The last product in this teriffic trio is Grip tight holding gel. This is a water-based formula that provides high control, shine and flake-free style. While not every man uses styling products, this one is easy to use and may encourage him to try something new.

This product is perfect for guys who want easy to use hold, but dont’ really like the stickiness of a pomade in a jar. Our reviewer said it washed out without a struggle. It also helps with the frizzies (yes, guys have that, too)!formula, rinsing out easily and without residue. If you are especially creative, you can mix this with other styling products, too. For example, add some in the morning to keep hair under control, then rough it up at night to look wilder and sexier, all still with control and hold. Cool, and easy!
