In 2018 the Advice Sisters reviewed a truly revolutionary way to straighten and dry hair. Our RevAir review proclaimed that RevAirsucked, in a very good way (read review). “RevAir” means “reverse air.” It doesn’t blow hot hair onto your hair but instead, pulls sections of hair into a tube circulating air around the strands to make them straight. Now RevAir has great new hairstyling finishing products called TRIBOLOGY.
Tribology Haircare Products are specifically made to be applied before you use your RevAir. With the machine, the reverse-flow helps to infuse the beneficial ingredients of the products into your hair. However, if you don’t have a RevAir you can still enjoy these products (as we did when we tested them).
Tribology Primers have “‘thermo-protectants’ that also help while drying and straightening.
The RevAir Tribology Collection!
Wave Goodbye is a weightless, non-greasy product surrounds the hair cuticle to seal in moisture,. It also smoothes and makes hair more flexible. Enhance color and shine, and add moisture, If you have curly hair, you need this to protect your fragile strands.
PLAY IT STRAIGHT:
I don’t like to play favorites, but Play it Straight is a styling wax in a jar that really helps keep your hair as straight as you want it.
You don’t need much (so a little goes a long way).
Tribology Play it Straight is billed as a “hair primer” (trendy!). However, along with keeping hair straight, the emollient product with natural oils seals the cuticle with moisture,
If you are pulling and styling your hair straight, another benefit is that it helps reduce hair fiber fatigue, heat damage and protects your hair, color and shine from humidity.
Another one of my must-haves from the collection is the Bright Shot Shine Spray ($35).
This is high shine on demand that you can use to pump up the luster of your hair anywhere, any time.
This superfine mist has light-reflecting properties along with benefits for your hair ingredients including Avocado Oil: Fortifies Hair; Acacia Extract: Seals in Moisture; Blueberry Oil: Repairs Damage; Tamarind Extract: Maintains Collagen
HOW TO USE:
If you are using these with a RevAir machine, here’s how to get the most out of these products:
Apply to clean, wet hair. Using fingers, distribute throughout hair.
Comb or brush through to more evenly distribute, as you section your hair to Rev.
With RevAir Primers a little goes a long way… start with a minimal amount and increase as needed,
If you Use Tribology Products Without RevAir:
Apply the Bright Shot Shine Spray to dry hair. For Wave Goodbye and Play It Straight apply to wet, damp or dry hair and style as usual.
Do not use too much in the beginning. Experiment and see what works best for you.
The RevAir Tribology products are $15 per product (Bright Shot is $35) . There are travel sizes available too (thank you)!
These prices are reasonable. However, you can get a BOGO. Get a full-sized primer and get the Bright Shot Shine Spray with it ($39).
The Bottom Line:
I loved the RevAir machine but it is pricey. These products can help you strengthen and seal the cuticle even if you don’t have RevAir.
Your hair will still be moisturized, shinier, and less frizzy for longer, either way. For more information and to purchase Tribology products visit https://myrevair.com/pages/tribology
