a secret weapon for straight, frizz-free hair: InStyler Max!
Well, I’m a steamroller, baby
I’m bound to roll all over you
Yes, I’m a steamroller, baby
I’m bound to roll all over you
I’m gonna inject your soul with some sweet rock ‘n roll
And shoot you full of rhythm and blues…
From “Steamroller Blues” James Taylor
I’m no longer singing the blues because I’ve found the InStyler Max 2-Way Rotating Iron, my new secret weapon for straight, frizz-free hair in literally, less than two minutes! There have been many heat styling tools in my life, and many have done a good job, but the InStyler Max Styling Tool is one of the fastest and most effective hair straightening tools I’ve ever tried.
The InStyler Max combines the trendy rotating heat styler idea with a stationery brush. It works in two different directions (the barrel can rotate left or right) and it has 4 heat settings up to 425 degrees. It also has an exclusive black tourmaline ceramic and ironic set of bristles for even heat distribution, and those bristles glide through even thick, tangly frizz “like a steamroller” with frizz-reducing negative ions to not just straighten hair, but make it look silky, shiny and smooth. It does it so quickly that even if you use the high heat setting, you don’t need to keep the heat on your hair very long. A 1 1/4″ barrel works really well for medium to long hair but there is also a smaller InStyler Max 2-Way Rotating Iron, Black, 3/4 Inch version (in black only) for shorter hair and tighter curls.
The heat styler heats up in really about 30 seconds (you can easily see what setting you want thanks to a big power button and a strip with four lighter bars). The barrel part gets hot. If you are careless as I was, you can burn yourself (I let the hot tool brush against my wrist as I was putting it down on the included heat pad which you also should use to keep the heat away from furniture surfaces). However, you also get a little plastic cage (a trainer) ” to keep your skin away from the heat (use it). You also get a wide tooth comb/pick to separate hair sections. Since this is a heat tool, nice to know that there is an auto shut-off if you get distracted.
Using this tool is intuitive, but there are videos on the InStyler Max website and they are helpful. The InStyler is simply superb at straightening hair and reducing frizz. It does this at lightening speed. Nothing I’ve ever tried works faster or better. Other beauty editors mentioned how great my hair looked even though the weather was humid, cold, rainy, etc. When it comes to making curls and flips, I personally think that there are tools that can do these kinds of things better. However, if your budget is tight and you can only invest in one tool, and your primary interest in in straightening, the InStyler Max is a fabulous find. It will also give your hair soft curls, flips and add volume, just practice with it (again, the InStyler Max website videos are really helpful).
At $99.00 it isn’t the least expensive gadget on the market, but it can get you out the door in about 2 minutes. For me, that’s priceless! You can get this fabulous Instyler Max 2-Way Rotating Iron at places like Sally Beauty Supply, Bed Bath and Beyond and Ulta, but I suggest you visit the InStyler Web Site and take advantage of the how-to videos.
