Review: Do You Slouch and Hunch Over? Lumo Lift Coaches You To Better Posture
By Alison Blackman
Slouching is a bad habit, but many of us can’t help it. We’re just used to slouching and hunching over, especially when we’re tired or at a desk that isn’t designed for our height. not only makes you look tired and depressed, it can make you feel less confident and broadcast that to others. throw your spine out of alignment
Slouching doesn’t look good (slouching makes you look depressed and tired). Hunching over broadcasts a lack of confidence that you can begin to actually feel.
But slouching is more serious than just how it looks. Bad posture can throw your spine out of alignment permanently. It can cause back aches, neck pain, headaches, breathing problems, wrist pain.
Poor posture habits can even lead to Dowager’s Hump!
Lumo Lift Lets You Remember To Use Good Posture
Lumo Lift reminds me, like me mom did, to “sit up straight.” Mom understood the importance of good posture. No one’s mom is around all the time so now we have the Lumo Lift is as our electronic “mom.” This is simple a small, wear-able device offering real-time coaching for your posture. Worn on your clothing, held with a magnetic clasp, Lumo Lift gently vibrates to let you know when you begin to slouch.
Worn on your clothing, held with a magnetic clasp, Lumo Lift gently vibrates when you slouch. It’s a user-friendly little tech gadget is a simple biofeedback tool that anyone can use.
The device istself is only about the size of an average women’s thumb (maybe minus a long nail). It attaches to your clothing (or undergarment or bra) with a square magnet the size of a chicklet (you get both a black and a silver version). the magnet is the only thing that shows if you are wearing this on the outside of your clothing.
Setup is super easy. It took less than a minute to download the app (available for ios or android) and another minute to enter our contact information, age, weight, height, etc.
Like many fitness trackers, this Lumo Lift app also has the ability to track your posture, steps, distance and even calories and sync this data via Bluetooth.
