MAC Cosmetics is counting on knocking us all out with It’s a Strike. While bowling has always been fun, it’s now “cool” again with everyone from the Kardashians to high fashion models donning the duds and the shoes and taking selfies as they slay their opponents on the bowling alley.
As MAC Cosmetics describes this fun, flirty collection (Oh how we covet that new Pearmatte Face Powder with the embossed bowling pins and ball in it!) “Head straight to the fast lane and have a ball with M∙A∙C It’s a Strike! A range of Lipstick and Cremesheen Glass is racked in red. Rich eye shadow and Fluidline Pen shades will have everyone begging to join your league, while easy hues of Casual Colour are right up anyone’s alley. Practice a clean follow-through with three creamy colors of M∙A∙C Studio Nail Lacquer. Finally, knock them all down with the luminous allure of new Pearlmatte Face Powder.“
This is a fairly large makeup collection and there’s something (at least a couple of covet-able things) for everyone. What strikes us (pun intended) is that a lot of the products can be matched (e,g, we liked the Baby Split nail polish matched with the Bowl-A- Rama eye shadow).
The more adventurous and trendy and try the “300 Game” eye shadow (a cherry) with the “Perfect Score” (deep cherry red) lipstick slicked over with “Right Up My Alley” (dark red) Creamsheen Glass.
One of our favorites (matched or not) in this collection is an eye shadow called “Join My League?” that looks like spent coffee grounds in the compact but makes a modern smokey brown as velvety and smouldering as you can imagine on your eyelids.
We didn’t try the other products in the collection but judging from the photos they’re bright and beautiful and will work well with a fading tan, a fair complexion, or someone who is naturally deeper toned.
