It’s not a safe world and theft can ruin your trip, not to mention stress you out to the max no matter where you are.
What Is SAFEGO?
SAFEGO is a portable safe/lockbox that you take with you to keep your valuables safe (hiding things in a shoe or under a shirt isn’t going to fool a criminal).
The box is safe is water and sand resistant.
Let it do double-duty en-route by storing items you might not want out there for public consumption (not valuables, never pack those in a suitcase).
I’m thinking more like that adult toy you want to try out on your honeymoon, or the surprise gift you don’t want someone to see until you’re at your destination! 
SAFEGO can work with a key, but also has a custom combination lockbox.
Our review sample was white, and I like this gold version, but it comes in black, blue and pink.
SAFEGO Specs:
The SAFEGO is 7” x 4” x 7.5” with a 17¾” long and ¼” thick cable. It weighs just one pound and has an interior space capacity of 88 cubic inches.

Is There a Downside?
Initially, I thought this would be a great idea to take to a hotel to wrap around the closet rod instead of using the traditional hotel safe (not so safe).
But the downside is that you signal to anyone who sees it that you have a lockbox/safe and have something you consider of value in it.
Any real criminal entering your hotel room could rip out the entire closet rod or whatever it is locked to) to get to whatever is inside.
In public, the average person or amateur thief will pass it by even if SAFEGO is in plain sight.
But a determined thief is going to cut the 6mm heavy-duty steel cable with a wire cutter (they have good ones).
If that doesn’t work, they’ll smash the High Impact ABS plastic (used for car bumpers so it’s strong) until it cracks open.

That said, I still love the idea of this. It certainly would slow down an average person just looking to swipe what’s out in plain sight.
And since it’s water/sand resistant you can put your phone and music player inside and still listen to music (there’s a little hole for earphones) and at least keep your valuable sand and salt-free.
If you need to store an extra housekey, for example, you can lock it to your BBQ grill’s inside storage shelf or a storage bin (way better than under the welcome mat).
I can’t say that SAFEGO is a 100% safe solution, but if you lock it to something that can’t be moved easily, and then throw your tote bag, beach towel etc. over it, you’re still a lot better off than storing your stuff in a shoe or under a towel or shirt!
