Robin McGraw’s Revelation
The Dr. Phil show is easily one of the fabulous success stories of daytime television. His unique brand of “life strategies” has skyrocketed the show to more than a dozen seasons. The program has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award every year since 2004. In this feature we’re checking out Revelation, the skincare line from Dr. Phil’s wife of 41 years, Robin McGraw. She is the founder and CEO of Robin McGraw Revelation.
What is Revelation?
There are 15 products plus a mini trio set in this anti-aging skin care line. The star feature is something called “Dynamic Infusion Technology™ ” The signature patent-pending Dynamic Infusion Technology™ transports peptides, antioxidants, and vitamins to the skin (claimed 26 times faster than traditional skincare ). It would be nice to see more information on this.
I received samples of OMG! Is this really ME Instant Face Shaper; Live Life Liften Firming Neck & Decollete Cream and Dot Your Eyes. Your skin is not like mine, or anyone else’s and your results will likely be different. Here are my thoughts on this are solely based on my personal experience.
More Than A Pretty Face:
Many celebrities just put their famous names and faces on a product, but Ms. McGraw spent years working with chemists and has sworn on television that her products contain the highest-quality, most potent active ingredients, along with cutting-edge technology. The products do not have sulfates, mineral oil, parabens, or harmful chemicals. There is no animal testing.
Dynamic Infusion Technology:
Many of the products are powered by their patent pending Dynamic Infusion Technology.™ I can’t really quantify how much faster the potions penetrate into your skin but I can say all that the three products I tried did not linger and feel greasy or heavy. It would be nice to see more information on this.
I reviewed three products: OMG! Is This Really Me? Instant Face Shaper (Retail Price: $34.00);DOT YOUR EYES (Retail price: $40.00); and Live Life LIFTED (Retail price: $42.00). What I like is that the products are reasonably priced, with lovely ice-blue metal oxygen-free pumps. The color is gender-friendly so guys wouldn’t feel wierd using it if they wish to do so.
OMG! Is This Really Me?
This product has an eye-catching name, but it’s a serum packed with 5 unique peptides that tackle lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, and that help make dull, tired skin look better. It’s really pleasant to use, feels tingly and refreshing upon application, and smells delightfully herbal. It absorbs quickly. I didn’t see an immediate result, but over time, the cocktail of peptides could do a good job for your skin.
Argireline: Works similarly to Botox to help reduce and prevent fine lines and wrinkles without the injection
Syn-Coll: Boosts volume and aids in natural collagen production
Syn-Tac: Smooths fines lines and wrinkles while nourishing skin and helping to stimulate elastin
Syn-Hycan: Firms and lifts sagging skin
Snap-8: Works with Argireline to target deep-set wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes
Rich in omega-3, natural antioxidants like acai fruit extract and perilla seed oil protect against cell degradation while soothing and rejuvenating skin.
Live Life LIFTED:
You don’t have to be “of a certain age” to have damage on your neck & decollete. This product helps to deal with fine lines and wrinkles in the neck and décolleté areas while addressing the loss of firmness in the skin and combatting dark spots and discoloration that can really age you.
Again, this product helps to firm with a cocktail of peptides, plus jojoba esters with moisturizing vitamins A, D, and C, plus free radical blocking, anti-aging vitamin E-rich sunflower seed oil to provide intense healing and hydration without the sticky after feel. I also felt a refreshing feeling upon application. The product didn’t make me break out (the decollete is a delicate area and skin can be sensitive).
A flag for me was the claim that a peptide such as Argireline that is claimed to work similarly to Botox will help your skin naturally boost collagen production to promote elasticity and smooth necklines.
Botox is an injectable and to date,m no skincare product I’ve ever reviewed can do what an injectible can do. Theoretically, over time, Argireline plus the other peptides can help “freeze” the muscles temporarily. I can’t confirm or deny this but it doesn’t really work immediately.
However, you may find that your nicely hydrated skin looks a lot better, thanks to a large molecule hyaluronic acid plus the jojoba esters and protective sunflower seed oil dovetailed with the signature Revelation Peptide Complex . and protective jojoba esters are a boost to skin.
DOT YOUR EYES:
Every comprehensive skincare line has an eye cream. This one uses “science” and potent botanical ingredients to improve skin at the cellular level.
I liked the feel of this product, which didn’t irritate my eyes or the eye area. But my puffy eyes, dark circles, and fine lines didn’t disappear in a flash. Over time, this product claims to increase natural collagen production to tighten puffy and sagging skin. Smooth fine lines and wrinkles and help protect against skin cell aging.
Featured Ingredients also include Persian Silk Tree Extract, that powerful Peptide Complex, and Lecithin
The Bottom Line:
I really did like these products, even more than I expected to. While there really isn’t any “miracle in a jar” I think Robin McGraw really did put thought into the production with an eye to what an average woman would want and need. As part of a power couple and with the popularity of the Dr. Phil Show, she could have used her famous name to boost prices. Surprisingly, with just a few exceptions, most of the items are under $50. The ingredients seem like they should be effective over time and if you want to give Revelations a try, there’s a mini trio for $24 also good for travel.
