There are so many speciality boutiques and online stores selling beauty products, but one that’s considered one of the best, is Space NK. They sell dozens and dozens of beloved and unique product lines that you might not be able to find anywhere else. Mention the flagship store in Manhattan at 99 Greene Street in Soho, founded by Nicky Kinnaird back in 2007, and any beauty reviewer will instantly, sigh, lovingly. Sai-Sei is a product line exclusive to Space NK that was created for spa-style, at-home use. The line is based on the principles and rituals of famed, Japanese hot springs (known as “Onsen”). I have been to a Japanese Onsen and I can attest to the fact that bathing isn’t just a “hurry up and get out” activity there. Taking your time, enjoying your surroundings, the sounds, and beautiful scent, is all part of a ritual that we’d do well to do more of!
For those who care, these products use traditional botanicals and antioxidants and do not contain parabens, DEA, TEA, petrolatum, Glycols, mineral oil, sulfates, PEG, silicones or phthlates.
One that I really like is the Sai-Sei Mineral Bath & Shower Gel ($32.00 6.4 fl. oz) an ombre-toned, sea-green bottle that is gracefully fluted at the bottom and has a white pump on a clear collar, dispenses a light, mild, gel-style cleanser. When mixed with water, the cleanser become milky, and moisturizing and turns into a rich, silky foam with a fresh, uplifting, clean, slightly green scent. It makes your skin feel so silky and soft, and it’s a pure pick-me-up. I truly felt lucky to be using such an elegant cleanser. The active ingredients include essential minerals such as: Sodium, Potassium, Calcium and Magnesium. plus skin softening fruit extracts including Orange, Lemon and Blueberry and skin smoothing and soothing Maple and Sugar Cane.

Based on my experience with the Sai-Sei Bath & Shower Gel, I’d recommend it for anyone who wants something something special, or who likes natural products and spa-style relaxation but doesn’t have time to go to a spa, or who just loves to be pampered in small ways, every day.
