In 2000 advicesisters.com discovered a devilishly good Shampoo and Conditioner duo for your hair: Saints & Sinners Velvet Shampoo and Conditioner. It’s been a while since we reviewed other products from this luxury hair care line. So I was really excited to receive two products (one brand new) that Saints & Sinners considers “the Ultimate Blowout.”
Saints & Sinners Illuminati Divine Shine Serum
The Saints & Sinners Illuminati Divine Shine Serum ($32.50) is new and wonderful. If you’re seeking a glossy finish without compromising on hair health the lightweight texture, long-lasting shine, and pleasant scent make it a standout choice for those special occasions or everyday use. Just add a little to dry or damp hair and style as usual.
If you are into clean beauty you will be happy to know that the serum is free from parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. Saints & Sinners products are free of more than 14 ingredients but I am not going to list them all. Instead, I am listing the key protective moisturizing and beneficial ingredients. These include oils such as prickly pear seed, jojoba, olive fruit, and coconut oil. Note also that these products are Vegan and Cruelty-free.
My Test:
Hair serums can be notoriously heavy and sticky. this one was lightweight and had a non-greasy texture. You don’t need much as a little goes a long way. I didn’t think it would make so much difference, but my hair literally sparkled in the light. This is probably due to the intense light reflection using organic holographic material in the formula. The Illuminati Divine Shine Serum truly lives up to its name when it comes to delivering a beautiful shine to the hair. After blow-drying, my hair looked noticeably smoother and less frizzy, but it didn’t go “flat” in a few hours.
Saints & Sinners Velvet Divine Styling Potion
The Velvet Divine Styling Potion ($27.50) works on wet or dry hair. The “Velvet” collection is really is for those with dry damaged,, chemically treated and frizzy hair. But of course, anyone can use it and benefit. In all fairness, the floral scent is not my favorite (white flowers and I don’t get along too well) but others will love this feminine scent.
What truly sets this styling lotion apart, however, is its nourishing formula. Infused with a blend of ingredients like argan oil, avocado oil, and silk amino acids, my hair felt softer and healthier. Even after I used a flat iron there was a natural bounce and movement to my hair. When I let my usually thick and frizzy hair dry naturally, it didn’t look as wild.
The Bottom Line:
These are both excellent styling products. While I didn’t use these together for an “ultimate blowout” I don’t think you need to. Each product does something different. If your hair is especially fried, dried, and dull, I would suggest it. Although the price points for these products are above drugstore brands, I think they’re worth it.
