Beyonce’ is one busy lady! She was named the world’s most beautiful woman in 2012 by People Magazine ,and that’s not an honor to sneeze at! But between performing and gaining honors, she’s just launched her fourth fragrance: Beyonce Pulse Summer Edition by Coty.
Beyonce’s first fragrance, Beyonce Heat, turned up the “steamy” with floral, gourmand and sensual notes. It was nice, but strong. The Advice Sisters didn’t review her second fragrance Heat Rush, or the next fragrance, Beyonce’ Pulse (with key notes of pear blossom, peony, midnight blooming jasmine, Madagascar vanilla and bluebird orchid).
But Beyonce’ Pulse Summer Edition, as the name suggests is light years from Beyonce’ Heat, and a lighter (and light hearted) version of the original Beyonce’ Pulse. It really is a perfect-for-Summer, light, fruity floral.
Created by perfumer Bruno Jovanovic at International flavors & Fragrances (IFF), this fragrance starts with fresh and sparkling top notes of pear, icy mandarin and pink pepper, with a heart of ginger orchid, jasmine and Tunisian orange flower. A creamy bottom of sapphire woods, musks and benzoin add a touch of sensuality to the fragrance, without making it overly heavy. You can really smell the fruits at the top, but only initially. When the fragrance dries down it blends into a really a light floral with barely a nod to fruit. It isn’t wildly unique, but it’s user friendly and the kind of scent that women of all ages can easily, appropriately love, and wear, day or evening.
Whether a fragrance costs a little or a lot, fragrance bottle collectors are always on the hunt for something new and beautiful. Beyonce’ Pulse and Beyonce’ Pulse Summer Edition share the same unique bottle shape which will make collectors very, very happy.
The striking bottle of both the original Beyonce’ Pulse, and the new, Pulse Summer Edition Eau de Parfum, is an upside-down bottle. The limited edition for Summer features a pink and blue combo. The flacon seems to be a modern take on a flower, but is apparently, actually inspired by Beyonce”s stage costumes (and I can see that, too). It looks dramatic and a bit tipsy, but actually, the bottle stays well balanced. The outside carton is a holographic explosion of blues and pinks with a touch of silver.
So what was Beyonce’s vision for this new scent? According to Beyoncé on her fragrance web site she says: “Life is a flirt. Love is a game. The sky is your limit. Beyoncé Pulse Summer Edition gives you a burst of the inexplicable energy you feel during the Summer. It will leave you feeling great, ready to conquer anything, as if nothing and no one could ever resist you.”
Well, I’m not sure I felt that much empowerment from this fragrance, but it will make you feel “pretty” and ready to take on the day…or evening. This limited edition scent is available now at select perfumery chains and fine department stores.
The Eau de Parfum 100 ml (3.4 fl. oz) is just $59.00, and the 50 ml bottle is a steal at $49.00. Learn more at: http://www.beyonceparfums.com/
