A while back, I wanted to review the AEON by Philip Simon (srp. $139). Mine just arrived this afternoon, and I’m so in love with them, I dropped everything I was doing to write this review, because I know you will want the Aeon, yesterday!
These trendy sandals have a truly edgy heel wrap with a buckle that says “I fight like a girl.” The high, wooden platform and curved heel are wood, and the smooth, wide leather bands that hold it to your feet, are leather. Round, bronze-y studs hold the leather bands to the shoe. There’s a slingback buckle that adjusts to fit your foot, and just in case wood seems slippery, no worries! The sole is rubber. It’s like business in the front, party in the back. Get them in grey, black or tan. These sexy but still affordable sandals are perfect for Fall. I like them with textured tights. I can see Fergie wearing these, can’t you?
What I like so much about the Philip Simon line is that whether it’s a pump, a sandal, or a boot, each design has something special that lets you be a trend setter. Philip obviously knows that his customers want something beautiful, and easy to wear, but special. With the Aeon, it’s a beautiful sandal, but when you turn to the side, you see that it has that surprise, and a little bit of “toughness”, too. “Every woman desires to stand out and may want something on trend but that will still have a distinctive take on fashion,” he’s quoted as saying. No doubt Philip’s background is reflected in his shoe styles. He is credited with pioneering the use of tattoos on footwear. Inspired by the popularity of the Ed Hardy clothing brand, he proposed to develop a new market for the brand in footwear. The venture was an extraordinary commercial success and millions of Ed Hardy-branded footwear have since been sold. In 2008, Philip was awarded Footwear Plus Magazine’s prestigious “Best Design” award.
The premier, Fall 2011 collection debuts 25 styles, each one unique. The Aoen is my choice as the shoe of the day (maybe even the month) for a transition Fall to Winter sandal that works with everything you’re wearing now. The Philip Simon sneaker-inspired boot collection is really cute as well, such as this one (the Kevoik, $195.00). What do you think of it? I almost makes me long for cooler weather (maybe I shouldn’t go that far, but I do think fun boots make cold weather, more fun).

I have a wonderful pair of wedge shoes made by Philip Simon and would love to purchase more but it seems that he and his shoes have fallen off the earth. I tried going to his website that you listed above it is not available. Do you have any knowledge of if he is still making shoes or where I can find any if there are still any available? Ebay and Amazon has some but they are not what I am looking for. Please help!!!
I wish I could give you a specific answer but we are a review site, not retailers. If you have searched and you can’t find them the chances are good that you won’t find them. What I always suggest is to find something that is similar. No one has a patent on great shoes. if you like the size of the wedge, or the padding, or the style, or there’s something specific that makes you love them, the chances are good you will find another designer that does the same thing.
