When I go to the jewelry store I always ask them to steam clean my jewelry. I use “dip-it” jars of jewelry cleaner at home, but they never really get the job done.
Now, you can also use this same unit to sanitize your personal items with UV light and an ultrasonic water bath.
Pro-Style Cleaner
This is a professional quality machine (the steam is quite robust). You probably don’t even realize how dirty the things you wear on your body can get. There is a lighted control panel with easy to understand icons, an ultrasonic bath, pressurized steam, and UV light sanitation technology to clean and sanitize your jewelry.
it can also clean and sanitize other personal items (E.g. toothbrush, dentures, night guard, retainers, reading glasses), baby products (pacifiers, teethers), and home goods (sponges, kitchen utensils, etc.),
If you are truly clean obsessed, you can clean and sanitize razors and even coins!
The machine has a clear plastic protective top cover, and three hooks inside a side door to hold jewelry you’re waiting to clean. This large side door also can store most of the accessories.
Accessories are a long tweezers, plastic funnel and measuring cup, stainless steel basket, tongs (similar to a loose tea infuser to hold small items) microfiber polishing towel, the instruction book and Sienna’s 1-year limited warranty.
Ultrasonic Bath
Start binging your jewels back to their beautiful shine with the ultrasonic bath that removes grime and stops automatically when it is done (in 5 minutes).
Amazingly, there is no chemical or soap required, it does this just with plain tap water and 46,000 sonic vibrations per second,
After the ultrasonic bath is finished, you’ll see cleaner jewelry as it releases tarnish, lotion, dirt, makeup, oils and other dirty substances,
Continuous Steam
However, for additional cleaning, you can move on to the high-pressure continuous steam cleaner (55 PSI continuous pressured steam, 1100 watts of power).
I found the robust steam a bit daunting at first, but you get long tweezers and a mesh basket that keep the steam away from your fingers. The steam really works magic, getting rid of anything the ultrasonic bath didn’t loosen and remove. This is what your jeweler uses to make your diamonds and stones, sparkle again.
In my tests rings that had not been cleaned in years looked clear and caught the light, Gold bands sparkled.
Sanitize!
You probably don’t ever think about it, but your jewelry can pick up a lot of germs.
If you clean your jewelry often, you might not have to santize that much. However, dental products and products for the kitchen and for baby really need to be cleaned all the time.
So the third cleaning feature of the Sienna TrioShine 3-in-1 Personal Jewelry Cleaner is a UV sanitizing function.
The company claims that it will kill 99% of E.Coli, Staph, and Salmonella. I can’t verify it but the UV works at 46.000 vibrations per second to do the “dirty work.”
The generously sized UV water bath area can hold fairly large items and sanitize them in minutes.
Downside?
The unit is about the size of a bread baking machine which means it’s not going to always fit on the countertop of small apartment areas.
Also, it will clean a lot of items, but you really need to know what’s safe to clean.
Some gemstones are not appropriate or safe for steam cleaning. Some are not safe because they are “soft” stones (e.g. turquoise, coral, pearls) or they may have serious inclusions that could compromise them.
Fortunately, the included instruction book includes a precious stone cleaning guide to help you decide what is safe to clean.
