When I think of June, I think of roses. Growing up we had a backyard full of what we called tea rose bushes. I’ll never forget the scent of these early blooming beauties. Recently, advicesisters.com received SIGNATURE, a new fragrance from FARMASI.

Damascus rose
A Special Rose:
The SIGNATURE fragrance starts out as a fresh, fruited floral fragrance that focuses on the Damascus rose. This rose is well known for its pure and fresh fragrance. Based on the description, perhaps we did have Damascus rose bushes in our garden. One thing to note is that it literally takes thousands of rose petals to produce the aromatic, intense, floral essence used in fragrances and rose-scented beauty products.
The Notes:
When I first smelled this fragrance, I thought it was quite fresh and fruity. Top notes include Blackcurrant, Pink Peppercorn, Pear, and grapefruit. The heart features the Damascus Rose, sourced from the “rose garden of Turkey” in the city of Isparta. But these are blended with sensual Orris, Heliotrope, and Magnolia. The sensual base notes take a while to announce themselves but finally they do: Musk, Amber, Cashmeran, and Vanilla soften the fruits and florals.
I don’t believe that scent has a gender. However, when you look at the packaging, the pink outer carton, the frosted pink bottle, and the star rose note therefore it’s obviously focused more for women.
That said, this fragrance is built around the rose. But it is neither too overwhelmingly floral nor too light for the cooler months. I think it will be a wonderful year-round scent that even a younger woman could easily wear. SIGNATURE Eau de Parfum it also “green” It’s derived from upcycled Rose (Rose Water Natsource™ Extract) which is obtained through a sustainable double distillation of rose petals by recovering water from rose distillation.
