It’s a simple fact that if you don’t clean the dirt, sweat, makeup and other pollutants off your skin, it can’t look its best. However. sometimes you just don’t feel like washing (we know). Sometimes too, you may be somewhere where soap and water (or facial cleanser and water) is simply, scarce (e.g. on a camping trip, out in the desert, or on a hike). Or you might be in transit (e.g. trains, planes, automobiles, busses, bikes, and more). Maybe you’ve had a spur-of-the-moment change of plans. Now you need a way to remove the evening’s makeup before it’s all over your face when the sun comes up (no explanation, needed).
Facial Wipes Are the Answer:

I really like Simple® facial wipes because they have no harsh chemicals, no artificial perfumes or dyes that can upset skin and they contain good for your skin ingredients. If there is one thing I really personally don’t like on y face, it’s fragrance (this is a personal preference, others may differ). These wipes are also hypoallergenic, paraben-free, dermatologist-tested, non-comedogenic and pH balanced.
Choose Your Wipes:
There are four types of cleansing wipes plus eye makeup remover wipes: Cleansing, Exfoliating, Oil Balancing, and Simple Radiance Cleansing. What you don’t see on the Simple® Cleansing Facial Wipes are that they give you a one-step powerhouse towel to remove dirt and makeup, even waterproof mascara. The formula is oil and alcohol-free and contains Vitamins: o Pro-Vitamin B5 plus antioxidant VitaminC. The Oil Balancing Cleansing wipes have glycerin to protect the skin’s moisture barrier, zinc PCA to reduce the appearance of oil on the skin, phytosphingosine with anti-inflammatory properties, and the wipes are also alcohol-free.
I also tried the Exfoliating wipes that work to remove dry, dead skin cells. Aloe vera conditions skin and Pro-Vitamin B4 softens and smooths. These nicely added a bit of radiance to my skin. I didn’t try the radiance wipes. However, they are lightly patterned for gentle exfoliation and also have mango extract, bisabolol as an anti-inflammatory, and glycerin, plus 1-methylhydantoin-2-imide which helps to brighten skin. You can get these are mass-market retailers, drugstores, and supermarkets, or visit www.simpleskincare.com
Three Wipes From Ponds:
There are also four different PONDS wet towelettes to try (we tested two: Evening Soothe, and Original Fresh). Original Fresh features a textured cloth that ha anti-oxidants and Vitamin E, plus the cloths are non-drying, dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic, and safe for those who wear contact lens wearers.
Evening Soothe features Chamomile and White Tea. The fragrance is very subjective (the fragrance is supposed to be relaxing) so if you like a bit of fragrance on your face you will love this. Who am I to argue as this product won a 2012 Allure Best of Beauty Skin Award. The point is, it gently gets rid of dirt and makeup and calms your skin without drying it out. It’s also Dermatologist tested, Hypoallergenic and safe for contact lens wearers.
You can also choose Ponds Exfoliating Renewal Wet Cleansing Towelettes featuring invigorating beads to gently polish away dead, dry skin cells, and Ponds Luminous Clean Wet Cleansing Towelettes with soft white Kaolin clay known for gently drawing out deep-seated impurities in your skin. It did so, impressively! Ponds is known for affordable and effective skincare, so choosing one of these is a no-brainer! You can get all of these easy to use, re-seal-able (as are all the towelette packs, I should add) products, at mass-market retailers, supermarkets, and select drugstores or visit http://www.ponds.com/
Wipes From Aveeno:
As an Aveeno Ambassador, I’d be remiss if I didn’t also recommend some of my new favorite wipes, the Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Makeup Removing Wipes (SRP. $6.99 for 25).
They’re part of the Positively Radiant collection, which I already love. These are Oil-free, Noncomedogenic, Dermatologist Tested, and Ophthalmologist They also have Aveeno’s exclusive Active Naturals® Total Soy Complex. The Advice Sisters have written about this often, but it helps to even out and smooth skin tone. It has Vitamin B3 to boost hydration and reduce redness (you’ll see it listed as ”niacinamide” on the label.).
Just so you know: Vitamin B3 increases the production of ceramides and fatty acids. These are two key components of your skin’s outer protective barrier. As that barrier is strengthened, skin is better able to retain moisture. B3 is a great ingredient if your complexion is dry or sensitive. Some say that niacinamide also improves the signs of flushing and blushing from rosacea. It might also inhibit the transfer of pigment to skin cells, minimizing dark spots.
Wipe are just the best! I’ve used them to remove even stubborn long-lasting lipstick and mascara without a struggle. even though I have sensitive eyes, wipes don’t irritate them. Many makeup removers do.
My skin looks brighter after I’ve usedwipes for a few days, and they are so easy to use. What’s not to like! The Advice Sisters also reviewed Aveeno’s Ultra Calming Wipes, last Summer. You can get these in mass-market retailers and drugstores and supermarkets, or visit: http://www.aveeno.com/
