Earth Day is April 22nd. This year, why not get the economical, easy, healthy, and fun Fizzi One Touch by Soda Stream and save the waste stream from over 3,700 single-use plastic bottles and cans. It also saves you money when you make your own (and you know what’s in it). Add your own natural flavoring for a healthy treat even the kids will love.
My family used to go through at least one carton of flavored sparkling water a week. It wasn’t just the cost that bothered me. The cans took up an entire shelf of our refrigerator. We had to collect them for recycling. But most of all, we had differences of opinion about what flavor we liked which meant at least two cartons of different flavors in our fridge at any one time.
Enter the Soda Stream and life is more economical, more environmentally friendly, and actually, more fun!

Soda Stream Genesis

Soda Stream Power
The Advice Sisters have reviewed a couple of versions of the Soda Stream sparkling water makers. In 2011 The Advice Sisters reviewed an early version of the (non-electric) soda stream, The Soda Stream Genesis. For holiday 2016 we suggested the Soda Stream Power. an electricity-powered soda stream with a one-touch panel.
Soda Stream Fizzi One Touch:

my soda Stream Fizzi One Touch is set up and ready to go!
However, if you don’t want to use electricity (to reduce your carbon footprint), try the new SodaStream Fizzi One Touch, Like the Soda Stream Power, the Fizzi uses a CO2 cartridge, stored safely in the back of the plastic, soda-fountain-style stand (no worries, it won’t break or explode and it is replaceable).
The SodaStream Fizzi One Touch is designed pretty much like the original Soda Stream Genesis, but back then if I pressed the button too much I got a geyser of water on my kitchen counter!
That’s why I’m really liking the Fizzi One Touch, because, with this version, you don’t have to guess how long to press the button to get the level of water carbonation you want. Press three time to get low, more times for medium or high fizz. It is so easy and intuitive even a child can do it.
Another improvement is that the new Soda Stream Fizzi One Touch features SodaStream’s patented snap-lock technology to insert the bottle. With the Genesis, you had to screw the bottle into the top of the machine, which was a bit tricky.
Why use a DIY carbonated water device?
Apart from the environmental aspects (Soda Stream machines use BPA-free carbonating bottles, reusable for up to three years) and considering that drinking water is a must for good health, Soda Stream lets you make flavored water with natural flavorings (e.g. juices) you choose. This way you know what you are drinking is pure and healthy.
However, SodaStream offers regular and diet bottles of flavorings in various sizes. There are tons of these in every flavor imaginable, and even an energy drink. A capful flavors an entire Soda Stream bottle. The four in my photo above are just the tip of the classic flavorings iceberg!
If you need to whet your whistle, the Soda Stream Fizzi one Touch is perfect. Since you don’t need electricity you can take it anywhere, such as when you’re glamping…and help save the planet along with your dollars. The Soda Stream Fizzi One Touch Starter Pack ($99) arrives with a Sparkling water maker, Carbonating cylinder, 1L bottle and free shipping!
