Burnin’ For You
……Burn out the day
Burn out the night
I can’t see no reason
To put up a fight
I’m living for givin’ the Devil his due
And I’m burnin’, I’m burnin’, I’m burnin’ for you
I’m burnin’, I’m burnin’, I’m burnin’ for you
I’m burnin’, I’m burnin’, I’m burnin’ for you
I’m burnin’, I’m burnin’, I’m burnin’ for you….
(performed by Blue Oyster Cult, “Burnin’ For You” is track #1 on the album Fire Of Unknown Origin. Songwriters Donald Roeser and R. Meltzer)
When Valentine’s day rolled around, we found a gift that kept on giving: Every Diamond Candle hides a costume ring that sparkles like the real thing and it’s a nice one, not a cereal-box quality one. And of course, you also get a beautifully scented candle. For women, candles and rings are two of the most romantic items you can put together. Diamond Candles have a number of collections including fruity, fresh, special events, and more in 12 oz and 21 oz sizes ($24.95 for the larger size). But now for the spookiest of holidays, HALLOWEEN, Diamond Candle is offering a two spooktacular Halloween scented candles: Candy Corn and Pumpkin Chai. Find the code that comes in your candles foil pouch and enter it online for your RINGREVEAL™ that could result in a $100, $1,000 or $5,000 diamond ring, in addition to the $10 ring already included in each candle!
I tried the Candy Corn Candle. When I opened the candle’s rubber stopper and smelled the wax, it immediately reminded me of opening a fresh bag of candy corn. But the scent is mixed with a bit of something else to temper the sweetness, maybe a liquor, and a bit of what reminds me of caramelized sugar. In any case, it’s a fabulous fragrance for your home. I’m sure the pumpkin chai is equally as lovely, with roasted pumpkin & warm chai spices.. And as you can see from the photos, the glass votives are decorated with candy corn and pumpkin, to show what’s inside. The orange color works not just for Halloween but also for any harvest party, or Thanksgiving. This 2-gifts-in-one candle is the perfect gift for your Halloween hostess, or to create a spectacular (not spooky) ambiance in your home that might just last throughout the rest of the holidays, depending upon how long and how often you burn them.

diamond candle how to
The Diamond Candle’s tall glass votive has a secure top with a rubber ring to keep the scent in the candle lasting longer, but the candles are really well scented, so even if you burn the candle for just a short while, it will nicely perfume the air. But I am willing to bet the like me, most women are going to want to (at least intially) burn the candle for a while, so that the wax melts and it they can “unearth” the foil packette that contains the sparkling treasure. The first time I burned a Diamond candle it took about two hours. And the best way to get the packette out with ruining the candle for future use, is to use a pencil tip once the wax was melted enough, then lift the foil bag out of the candle. Once the wax cools and dries, you can then carefully unwrap the package. Inside, you’ll find a plastic bag with your new ring carefully nestled inside.
*postscript: After I’d enjoyed my Candy Corn candle for a while, I fished out the foil packette. Inside was a clear stone on a white band. For just one moment, I thought I’d won an actual diamond ring! Upon closer inspection, it was simply a glass stone on a silvery metal band (a size too large for me) and I didn’t see any code in my foil pouch, so I guess this time, I didn’t win the big prize, but while I didn’t get an expensive ring in mine and I’m not sure what the odds are of getting one, that’s not really the point. The candle itself is well worth the cost of $24.95 with the excitement that something even better might be hiding, inside, priceless!
