Warmer weather is definitely coming, and with it, the chance to “lighten up” both in terms of layering your clothing. Lighter, breathable fabrics, and bright bold colors, are a must-have for the season.
A tunic is the perfect cover up if you’ve been indulging a bit too much during the chilly months and it doubles as a must-have for the beach or resort. Tunics look chic and comfortable and skim over those extra pounds. They also are the perfect match for skinny jeans or leggings, or just wear one as a micro mini with tights. A tunic is the perfect travel companion. Just put it over a swimsuit for that lunch date! Alas, a great tunic can be expensive.
The good news is that Tribal Designs Sportswear has tunics that are flattering, good quality, loved by celebrities, and most are under $75.00!
For example, the V-necked embroidered tunic (worn by Naomi Watts in the photo above and in the three tunics on the left) has lots of details and it’s only $66.000. Made in India, it features long sleeves with button cuffs that can be rolled up with button tabs. This makes it great for chilly days, or for when you want to be a bit covered up from the sun, but when the mercury rises, you can make it into a short sleeved tunic, too. Perfect for travel, the tunic also folds down nearly flat. Three pearly buttons keep the front modestly closed, or lets you bare some skin. These buttons aren’t just cheap, plain plastic, either. They’re adorably engraved with a sprinkling of tiny flowers. On the white cotton version I tried, a tiny row of silvery sequins runs around the front placket and neck, adding just a hint of sparkle. Four rows of ruched fabric adds interest without being intrusive. The 100% cotton fabric is gauzy and sheer, but not so much that most would feel the need to add a camisole underneath. This tunic is long enough to cover the top of your posterior, but it’s not so long it looks like a sad sack dress. It is available in white, peach or turquoise, but classic white is the perfect top for a casual day, worn with jeans. Belt it or add a lot of boho beads for a truly joyous, warm weather, look. There are plenty of other options, as well.
