Why is it different:
Dimitri James Lippies:
Are you one of the many women who loves bold colors on her lips, but not the fact that they either show up on your teeth or “migrate” quickly to places around your lips where you don’t want them to go? If you’re searching for a lip product that is bold, but will stay put for Z while without drying out your lips, try the Caviar Lip Creams ($18.00) from Skinn Cosmetics by Dimitri James. These add bold, opaque color, but while they add gloss and shine (not sticky, high wattage, but moist shine).
They give your lips a lot of TLC too. They’re formulated with Caviar Extract, to hydrate your lips and help them look firmer, smoother, and younger giving you hours of hydration. After personally wearing long wear lipsticks that dry your lips out so much, the fact that these are formulated to leave some stain on your lips so it’s longwear but not with a drying formula is a plus. I like the ease and precise application you can get with a wanded applicator too.
Limited Color:
Alas, there are limited color choices, and places to purchase. For the boldest lips, try The Caviar Lip Cream in Scarlet or Ruby. Cerise More berry but still bold is Cerise, which I didn’t try, but I can see it’s a true cool pink-berry. Bare is not for everyone. It’s nude, it’s beige. It’s the kind of lipstick young girls and models pull off so well. If it’s too nude and natural for you, add a sparkling gloss over it and see how fabulous, “bare” can be! Face it, bold lips are IN:
FACE Stockholm is promoting two bold new beauties: Lipstick Ladakh and Lipstick Up-Beat ($22.00). The FACE lipsticks have always been some of my favorites, not just for their intense, long-lasting color, but also because of the elegant, shiny silver tubes. You can get these lippies in traditional Creams, classic Mattes, and subtle Veils. These are matte but you can add lip gloss to add shine if you wish. As you can see from the photos, “Up-Beat” is not for the shy and retiring. It is seriously orange and very bright. Make sure your lips are exfoliated and in good shape.
If the look is too much, blot it down, add a dab of lip balm under of over it to soften the look. ” Ladakh” is a deep, warm rose. I didn’t see a photo of it on the FACE Stockholm website so I took my own. Like Up-Beat, however, it is intense in color and very matte so make sure your lips are smooth when you apply it, or be sure to wear some lip balm to apply it smoothly. Both of these are quite stunning and while in the photos the eyes and the lips are both highlighted, I’d suggest focusing on just your lips with these. Let one feature stand out! Spring Beauty Vapour:
Vapour Organic Beauty has a travel-friendly foundation in a stick: Vapour Atmosphere Luminous Foundation ($42.00) that is made with 70% organic ingredients and 30% natural mineral pigments. For those who really are against too many chemicals, this is the first thing you’ll want to note. But the foundation itself is available in a dozen shades from super light to quite deep, and it’s especially good for normal, dry, mature, and sensitive skin. This I really liked! In addition, instead of just showing a photo of the color, the website tells you at least a little bit about what “tone” the foundation will suit.
How to use:
For example, the #120 foundation I was sent is described as “for light medium skin with neutral pink undertones.” The ingredients are listed, and even how to use the foundation to its best advantage (e.g. begin by warming Atmosphere in a circular motion on the back of your hand. The product is activated by the warmth of your skin. Then apply moderately, directly from the stick, to clean dry face and décolletage. Blend into skin until silky.
Used correctly, your skin will glow, but not shine; if there is shine, you have over-applied.The coverage is light to medium, the look is natural and luminous. It’s a really good product for so many reasons, no wonder Allure gave it a best of beauty award a few years ago. You will need to add sunblock since there isn’t any SPF in this, but otherwise, this product is a real beauty boon. Visit the Vapour Beauty Web Site
