You don’t always have to spend a fortune to get products with star quality. For example, Suave has been sponsoring Fashion Star Season 2. You can learn the key to radiant shine with the new Moroccan Infusion Range from Suave, at the Shine Suite on Suave.com and unlock the secrets to the television show’s winning looks and maybe even win a few prizes (hurry because the contest is over at the end of May).
But this article is really about Suave’s new Moroccan Infusion line from Suave Professionals. It consists of six products with a slightly lingering, kind of creamy vanilla with a hint of floral (but not girly) scent: Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Shine Shampoo and Shine Conditioner infused with authentic Moroccan argan oil that absorbs quickly and leaves hair conditioned and shiny. There is also a Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Color Care Shampoo and Conditioner, a Moroccan Infusion Deep Conditioning Shine Mask (leave on hair to penetrate for 3-5 minutes. Rinse and style as usual. Use instead of regular conditioner 1 to 2 times a week). And there is one versatile styling product that I was sent to try: the Suave Professionals Moroccan Infusion Styling oil that adds shine and helps keep hair silky, but without making it greasy.
In early January, The Advice Sisters published an article suggesting a number of products with argan oil. Argan oil has been around for a long time, but it’s only recently that the cosmetics industry seems to have grabbed onto it with eager hands, touting it as a super-trendy ingredient. Argan oil is made from green nuts of Argan tree found mostly in Morocco. It is a very rare oil because of the scarcity of the argan tree, but it has many benefits and uses, including a lot of dietary and supposed health benefits. When it comes to beauty, the main attraction is how argan oil helps to strengthen and nourish hair and skin.
The key to using any product with “oil” is to remember that less is more. If you add too much, you will probably find yourself wanting to wash your hair a lot more often. You can use this product on damp hair to help tame it (apply mid-shaft to ends only) or rub a bit on your hands and use it to tame fly-aways on dry hair.
Here’s how Suave suggests you use this nifty new product:
BEFORE SHAMPOOING – AS A SHINE TREATMENT
- Use as a shine treatment on dry hair before shampooing
- Section hair into 3 sections. Apply 2-3 pumps to each section of dry hair
- Leave in for 5 to 7 minutes
- Shampoo as usual
Stylist tip: If you’re short on time, shampoo as usual, then add 1-2 drops to your conditioner for a quick shine boost
AFTER THE SHOWER – FOR STYLING
- Use after the shower on damp hair to prepare for styling
- Depending on hair length & thickness, dispense 2-3 pumps into palms and rub hands together
- Apply from mid-shaft to ends, combing through to distribute evenly
- Style as desired
Stylist tip: Can be used before blow-drying but also when air-drying
ON DRY HAIR – AS A FINISHER
- Use as a finisher on dry hair for additional shine and to condition ends
- Depending on hair length & thickness, dispense 1-2 pumps into palms and rub hands together
- Gently run hands over the surface of dry hair. Avoid the roots.
- Add to ends for additional shine and conditioning
Stylist tip: Rub Styling Oil in hands to warm it for easier, more even application
The best thing? These products can be found in drugstores and mass market retailers everywhere for just a couple of dollars. And, there’s a store location on www.suave.com/
