Eye makeup in Summer can do a disappearing act in the heat. However, here are some great products from Maybelline, Revlon, itCosmetics, and Merle Norman. These eye makeup products look great and stand up to heat!
Maybelline Eye Shadow Palettes:
The City Mini: These are sets of 6 shadows, each with a base shadow–and there are 14 of them! The eye shadow stand up to heat and the colors combos offer something for everyone.
Why You’ll Love These:
The powder shadow is intense. There are numbers on the back of the palettes but you can see them better on the Maybelline Website.
In the collage photo above: on the top left-hand side is “#400 Concrete Runway,” offering a “date night” mix of matte, shimmery and glittery shadows including blue, brown and purple with a very glittery taupe.
Under Concrete Runway is “#480 Matte About Town.” Soft shades of brown and taupe won’t ever let you down!
Maybelline The City Mini palette “#410 “Chill Brunch Neutrals” (above) has a glorious slightly shimmery deep purple, two copper and taupe shimmers, one coppery gold super shimmer and a warm medium brown shadow (plus the base).
Maybelline Matte Bar Palette:
The Matte Bar Palette is in my photo collage, but I’m giving you a closer look as well.
Why You’ll Love These:
Matte Bar offers 8 shadows and two defining shadows for just $10.
The colors are earthy, warm, and soft, but have an intense color payoff. You won’t need much to make a statement. The shadows really last on your lids, too.
I particularly liked “Landmark” which is a deep browned red/rust. The intense matte colors are fun to mix, match, blend and play with.
Soda Pop and Lemonade Craze:
Why You’ll Love These:
Eye shadow should be fun to experiment with and these Maybelline palettes are the most fun each with a dozen shadows. The back of the slim, square palette shows you how to make the most of out the color combos.
Maybelline “Soda Pop #110” (on the right) has matte, shimmer and glitter shades in cool brights. The shimmery red “Cherry Cola” and bright orange “Crushing” instantly boost your trend quotient.
“#100 Lemonade Craze” features warm shades mostly neutral, but “Ice Pop” is a matte that you can also dab on lips and cheeks./ The glorious matte yellow “Lemonade Craze” is perhaps my favorite color in all of these Maybelline palettes because it reminds me of the Summer sun!

Merle Norman Eye Liner:
Eyeliner can be tricky. Love it or loathe it, the secret to getting a straight, smooth, long-lasting line is to choose the right product.
One eyeliner that I like is from Merle Norman. It’s a fragrance-free, water-resistant. Ophthalmologist tested liner which is safe for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers.
Why You’ll Love These:
No more raccoon eyes–ever. you can apply this liner in the morning and by evening, it’s still there!

ItCosmetics Brow Pencils:
Browse-ing for good brow products can be confusing. Do you want wax, gel, powder, liquid or something else?
itCosmetics makes it easier for you with three “Brow Power” products: Brow PowerFULL, Brow Power Micro and Brow Powder Universal Brow Pencil.
Why You’ll Love these:
The Pro Pen Eyeliner has a long thin tip that dispenses an intense, long-lasting color that won’t rub off in the heat.
My sample in “Sharp Brown” is oil-free. It looks almost black, but not quite as harsh. There is also a deep black, “Sharp Black.”
The Universal Taupe color will work unless your brows are really bleached out, or deep black (press harder for darker brows). and the color will keep going even when it’s sizzling outside!
itCosmetics Brow PowerFULL universal Eyebrow Pencil is new, offering bold definition. This is a must-have for anyone whose brows are sparse or for those who really love the focus to be on their brows. The slanted tip of this swivel-up pencil lets you get your look with one swipe.
The iCosmetics Brow Power Micro is the opposite –it’s a super thin swivel-up pencil to help you fill in sparse brow areas with a light touch.
Traditionalists will love the Brow Power pencil. itCosmetics says this one is their #1 best-selling, award-winning pencil infused with brow-enhancing biotin, lecithin, saw palmetto, nettle, green tea, antioxidants, grape seed, and vitamins A, B5, C and E and more!
itCosmetics Mult-Tasking Eyeshadow Brush:
The itCosmetics Superhero 4 in 1 Eye Transforming Super Shadow and Liner Brush is a purse-pal! You can select 4 different brush heads in a single, slim tube by pushing up or down.
Why You’ll Love It:
One end of the brush has a flat liner brush. But the other side starts out with a small, rounded smudger brush. Push down one notch to get a larger, crease brush. Push down again on the casing to reveal the all over shadow brush.
Soft, faux, cruelty-free Heavenly Luxe™ bristles hold their shape and smooth shadows, flawlessly.
If there’s a downside it is that there is no cap on either end of the brush. However, the $29 price is more than justified for versatility.
You’ll want two…one for your makeup bag, one for home. For more information visit http://www.itcosmetics.com
Revlon ColorStay Eye Shadow Palettes:
I placed this trio of Revlon Colorstay Looks Book Eye Shadow palettes in a Fall setting, but the shadows are just the right choice for the heat of Summer, as well as beyond into the Fall.
Each palette has 8 strips of intense color in a combination of mattes, super-shimmers, and shimmers (insider features all matte shades)
Show your personality! I’m featuring three long-wear palettes: “Player” (green-centric); Insider (browns and nudes) and “Enigma” (plum and peaches). There’s also “Original” (neutrals) and “Maverick” (rusts and browns).
Why You’ll Love These:
The color payoff is amazing, especially the super-shimmers that really add glam. The best part is that these are Revlon Colorstay and they can last up to 24 hours.
These are best applied with a makeup brush for a smooth application. I don’t suggest you wear eye makeup for a full day, but the point is that you can apply it and know it will stick around!
