Madison Reed TAME
Madison Reed is an online hair color company with new Color Bar in several cities where you can touch up your color without going through an expensive or lengthy salon visit. They also have stellar hair care products you can use at home to color your hair or enhance it.
The Madison Reed TAME Color Protecting Cream is an anti-frizz finishing cream in a pump tube so emollient, you only need a tiny bit to do a lot of good. Argan oil helps hair to shine and Mongongo oil protects against environmental stressors like UV damage (so it’s great for Summer).
The formula is sulfate-free and we when we tried it on towel-dried hair we could visibly see that our hair was nourished, shiny, and protected, while the frizz was kept to a bare minimum. In our last Spring reivew featuring anti-frizz hair products. we oohed and aahed over the beautifully scented Glossing Cream and Olio di Jasmine Hair Serum when we tested these products last
This year we’re suggesting two additional products that help to shine and restore dry and frizzy hair. Neither have that amazing jasmine scent but both can help revive your hair so it looks amazing.
Dry oil is a trend for both skin and hair. The Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Conditioner Spray ($25/ 4 oz.) instantly coats your hair with a fine mist of oils, emollients, and vitamins. If your hair is over-worked from products, sun/salt/sea or other issues, this is an easy fix.
Inside the can is a mixture of oils and emollients for shine along with gentle starches to absorb oil. There’s also strengthening Hydrolyzed Keratin, Pro Vitamin B5 for moisture, Vitamin E for antioxidant protection, and even some ingredients to help absorb excess oils.

I also tried the Rahua Elixer ($175) that is hydrating, calming, strengthening and adds shine while reducing frizz. Although it’s pricey, one or two tiny drops of this 100% concentrated rahua oil is all you need. The scent is Palo Santo Oil which smells fresh, herbal, green, like a walk in a forest after a rainstorm. It will even help to preserve your hair color.
One tiny drop really decreased frizz and the scent freshens your hair. A bit of a splurge that’s well worth it. Also nice is that the creators of Rahua wanted to bring awareness about the Amazon Rainforest and the importance of protecting it, the people that live there, and their wisdom.
