You already have your favorite skincare items. However, the weather is warming up, your skin is more exposed, and the sun brings new skincare challenges (eg. dry skin, more skin protection required). Here are some exciting skincare products that can help your skin survive and thrive (from your face to your feet), during the warmer weather ahead.
Do the Double Cleanse:
Double cleansing is a “big skincare thing” right now, but it has always been trendy with women who love beauty rituals and want to celebrate themselves as well as pamper their skin.
KAHINA Oil Cleanser ($59) was created to celebrate 10 years of KAHINA Giving Beauty.
Made with the key ingredient of nourishing free trade argan oil, plus antibacterial turmeric and blue Tansy to help reduce redness and inflammation, antioxidant St. John’s Wort and antimicrobial Calendula, it also has sebum-balancing carrot seed oil.
It’s meant to be used as part of a double cleansing ritual, but you can use this natural and organic skin-loving cleanser on it’s own if you want. Massage it into dry skin and inhale the natural geranium and neroli fragrance. Use a washcloth or rinse thoroughly and feel your skin — it will be significantly silkier!
A single cleanse will also help to rebalance and normalize your skin’s ph, but do the double ritual and cleanse deeper with KAHINA’s Facial Cleanser ($45) to tone and brighten and to remove toxins and any other traces of “gunk” on your face.
Rituals are meant to be savored. This is a little luxury to celebrate your skin day and evening. For more information visit the Giving Beauty website http://www.givingbeauty.com/
Ty Ayurvedic Skincare:
Essential Oil Cleansers have to please your senses as well as treat your skin well. Sahajan has an ayurvedic skincare blend featuring antioxidant Moringa Oil to lift dirt, rose oil to calm and moisturize the skin while offering a light rose fragrance, and coconut oil to hydrate and keep skin soft.
What is Ayurveda? Translated from Sanskrit, it means “the Science of Life,” a mind-body science meant to keep us in balance with things such as plant-based remedies, yoga, meditation, etc.
You might think that an oil cleanser wouldn’t work well for oily skin, but this one does. Simply add warm water and massage it until the oil becomes milky. Rinse thoroughly and enjoy your soft and pampered skin. This luxurious oil cleanser also whisks away even tough waterproof makeup without irritating the stuffings out of sensitive skin. Do Your PREPWORK:
Arbonne’s RE9 Advanced PREPWORK has 4 awesome products with key ingredients of superfoods including Kakadu Plum and Raspberry Ceramide to help your skin glow while protecting it from environmental stresses.
Arbonne’s RE9 anti-aging products are made without animal-derived ingredients, PEGs, propylene glycol, EDTA, and synthetic fragrance. It has botanicals including pea protein (moisturize and protect, firm) and Raspberry Ceramide (with Omegas 6 and 3), blended with antioxidant vitamin E, and Sustainable Lingonberry Stem Cell Extract (vitamins C and E) and Polyphenols (radiance and texture).
This set includes a Cleansing Polish (gently exfoliating, just massage and rinse); Hydrating Dew Cream (a rich, unscented moisturizer reducing shine and the appearance of pores); Gel Eye Masks (60 individual gel patches tucked into a screw-top jar). After 10-15 minutes on your eyes, you look like you’ve had a vacation!
My favorite in the set is the Soft Focus Veil Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen. It’s a moisturizing, mineral sunscreen with 7.2% zinc oxide and 2.5% Titanium Oxide, good for all skin types, allergy and dermatologist tested.
One downside- it isn’t water resistant. Refresh the protection during the day with other SPF products. I like the powder SPF sunscreens by SWEAT Cosmetics. These were created by female athletes who didn’t want to waste time re-applying sun protection on the move.
ThePREPWORK RE9 Advanced Set #4686 ($155) or buy products separately. Arbonne donates part of the proceeds from PREPWORK to support the Arbonne Charitable Foundation®’s mission to empower teens. Visit https://www.arbonne.com
Treat Your Feet:
I recently checked out a line of unique skincare products called theraplex for dry and sensitive skin (theraplex review). They penetrate deeply into the rough, dry skin and seal in moisture with not a trace of “icky sticky” residue!
Theraplex FT Exfoliating Emollient with Peppermint($15/ 2.5 oz. tube) is called an “emollient moisturizer” but looks like a super-powered ointment It is for very dry feet, hands, knees, heels or anywhere you’ve got rough skin that no ordinary moisturizer can manage.
I applied this product to my dry heels. It has exfoliating salicylic acid, pharmaceutical grade petrolatum (to protect), and an active hydrosilicone delivery system to seal all the good stuff into your skin.
It’s thick, but it absorbs almost completely and quickly. I could feel the product starting to go to work while the peppermint felt tingly and energizing.
If your dry skin is due to skin conditions other than just dryness such as plaque psoriasis or keratosis pilaris, you can use the FT Exfoliating Emollient With Peppermint as well.
Note too that the therapalex products are non-comedogenic and preservative, paraben, steroid, lanolin, and gluten-free and not tested on animals. You can get theraplex in lots of places such (e.g. Amazon) For more information visit http://www.Theraplex.com
